meowbox February 2020 Review
meowbox has a lot of exclusive toys that are usually pretty popular with my cats. From my perspective, it’s nice to see some things that don’t turn up in other cat subscription boxes:
The information card typically just gives a URL for finding out more information about the items in the box. The picture is adorable, as usual. This month had a Valentine's Day theme. (It did come in time for Valentine's Day, I just wasn't able to take pictures until a bit later.)
meowbox Love Nugget
This is made from compressed catnip and silvervine. My cats love toys like this. Madison, in particular, is a silvervine fiend. I couldn't get a picture of him doing anything funny with this, but he did spend a VERY LONG time investigating. Anyway, this was a hit.
Cupid's Arrow Crinkle Hearts
These have a crinkly texture and strings. Angus had a good time with this toy, playing all by himself, but of course his back was to me, so I didn't get very good photos. Sneaky also liked this one (she and Angus do tend to like the same things, even if they don't like each other all that much).
Smitten Kitten Catnip Love Potion
This one has a fuzzy texture and is a good size for tossing. I think the feathers were my cats' favorite part, though. This has catnip in it as well and seems pretty well made.
Hugs and Kisses Wand Toy
There's a wand toy most months and they all differ but they've all been hits. This has dangly plush parts and some stringy fringe as well. Sneaky and Angus both liked this quite a bit. The plush bits are nice because teeth and claws can really sink in and hold on.
Yappetizers Pork Liver with Cheese (25 g)
I think these are Canadian treats but anyway, they were well-liked. They're heart-shaped and semi-moist and Sneaky and Madison loved them and Monkey ate one as well (Angus can't have them because of his IBD).
Here are some gratuitous cat photos:
Verdict: I couldn't calculate a total value for February’s meowbox because most of the items weren't yet for sale in their shop. They will likely show up later, however, sometimes it takes them a few weeks. This was a good box for my kitties. I mean, there were feathers and a wand and good treats and a lump of catnip. What's not to like?
To Wrap Up:
Can you still get this box if you sign up today? It may be too late for the February box, so your subscription would likely start with March, but you can buy some of the individual items from the meowbox store; just wait a week or two for the items to show up as they're not listed yet.
Value Breakdown: At $22.95 for the subscription plus free shipping, you are paying approximately $4.59 per item.
