PupBox Adult Dog Box Review March 2020
As you may or may not know, March 23rd was National Puppy Day! My dog isn't a pup any longer, but March 20th is Archie's Gotcha Day, so we'll always be celebrating him during this time of year. It's hard to believe we've had my sweet boy for an entire year already. I wanted a dog so badly, and I don't know how I got so lucky with my sweet, silly, and smart pup.

There was lots of great info in this month's box! There's a focus on dental health, which is really important for doggos of all ages. We always get compliments at the vet on Archie's teeth, but I swear it's because he's always nibbling on a toy! Brushing his teeth was definitely a process of trial and error, and I thought the tips and instructions on the card were really helpful.

Zippy Paws Camron Camo Gator Large Plush
I've previously mentioned that stuffies and my sweet boy definitely don't mix, sadly. He's a super-intense chewer, and has a brilliant skill for finding weaknesses in plush toys. However, this gator actually lasted quite a while with Archie! While the body of this toy was soft, the seams were strongly reinforced, making it much tougher than other toys of its type I've encountered before. Archie is a very specific kind of chewer, so eventually he did find the toy's weakness (in poor Mr. Gator's armpit), and start pulling out the fluff, at which point it had to be taken away, but other dogs would likely be able to play with this for ages with no problems. It had a great squeak, and it also must be mentioned that Arch adored it - he sulked most unflatteringly when I had to confiscate it!

Spunky Pup Squeaky Gem
It's bouncy, squeaky, and cute! However, I could spot from a mile away that it was the type of plastic that Arch would go to town on immediately. He's had toys of this same material in the past, and I always find them in shreds on the floor in about ten minutes. Other dogs would love this awesome squeaky gem, though. It's nice and light for indoor play without destroying anything, and its shape has a great off-kilter quality, which creates unpredictable movement and keeps a pup's interest!
Tropiclean Fresh Breath Oral Care Gel, 2 oz
I wanna give my pup the freshest of breath, and it's so nice to try a new product that's so useful. Ever since Arch came to us, I've tried to make touching both his mouth and feet natural actions so that he wouldn't be squeamish about tooth-brushing or having his nails trimmed, so he's pretty unfazed when it comes to most grooming actions. However, he really hated the tea tree toothpaste I bought! This stuff is nice; it's much milder in scent so I can only imagine it has a milder taste for him, and he didn't try to run when I gave him some. I think I might try putting this into a toy in the future to see if that's a good way to administer it, too!

Snif Snax Salmon & Sweet Potato Cutlet Treats, 3 oz
Arch really loves sweet potato so much - it's always his go-to treat for special days like his birthday. Pairing it with nutrient-rich salmon is a great pair - the omega 3s are so good for his coat and, you guessed - his teeth. Arch always knows when a new treat bag is about to be opened, and always proves to us that he is the bestest boy and deserves all the treats. You know - just in case we forgot!

Booda 2-Knot Rope Bone Large
Ropes for my sweet boy are classified as a supervised toy! I have to watch him like a hawk with these because he's so destructive. However, it's worth keeping this toy around and taking the effort to watch him because these toys are so good for a pup's teeth. As you may guess, the strings are just like little flossers and can get into little gaps and crevices to keep their gums healthy and get rid of plaque. Archie also loves them, so I'll save a toy like this for the weekend when I can just hang around with him and watch him play.
Verdict: I loved how this box spotlighted a super-important aspect of dog health! The tips and tricks were really useful, and the pointers were ideas that I wouldn't have normally thought of on my own. The variety of shapes, materials, and types of toys were so great to see, both as things to keep his teeth clean and to keep his interest. The toys were all extremely well-made, especially his plush gator friend. I know other dogs would love that toy for ages and ages, and dogs that wouldn't tear a rope to pieces would absolutely love the one included here. The tooth product is a great inclusion here, and treats are always welcome in our house - just ask Archie!
