Cardi-Stitch Beanie in Forest Night - Retail Value $29.50/Member Price $25.50
Kurt has a real penchant for winter hats and is always coveting the one from Frank And Oak that I have. This one popped up in his Style Plan in one of his favorite colors, so he decided to give it a whirl. Made of 50% viscose, 30% nylon, 20% polyester, this hat is new to Frank And Oak and features a small white branded patch at the front with both French and English saying "Designed in Canada. Made for good living." Kurt finds it well-crafted, warm, and that it could "more than survive the elements." This baby really blocks the cold winds we've been feeling in Pittsburgh and will be great for snowy days.
Calf Length Socks in Modern Grey Heather x2 - Total Retail Value $25.00 ($12.50/each)/Member Price $23.00 ($11.50 each)
Kurt excitedly texts me any time he's wearing some socks that he can tell me about (like these). He said that they're super comfy and he's been wearing them to work which means business casual with chinos, a button-down shirt, and some nice leather dress shoes. They're made with 75% organic cotton, 15% cool-plus polyester, 7% spandex, and 3% elastane. Perhaps his new favorite socks?
The Mackay Skinny Chino Pant in Iron Grey, size 31 x 32 - Retail Value $79.50/Member Price $69.50
These are the first pants Kurt decided to try and they ended up fitting perfectly! He likes a very slim cut so he was worried but they check all the boxes for how he wants a pant to look and feel! The chinos are made of 98% cotton, 2% spandex which is always awesome to see (the higher the cotton content, the better I feel about a lot of clothing). The pants have two front "slash" pockets and two back pockets with button closures. On their maiden voyage, Kurt wore these to work and texted me to say "I’m digging these pants!" He chose Iron Grey as the color which is sort of a warm greenish/brownish grey which I think looks really nice with his favorite brown leather dress shoes. When I asked him about more thoughts on the pants he said he was impressed with how well-tailored they are off the bat and would definitely buy more pairs in the future. He also said that they're incredibly soft!
*As a visual bonus- Miss Kittens decided that she wanted to be a part of the photoshoot although she was distracted by looking out the window.
Thermal Lined-Denim Shirt in Dark Indigo, size small - Retail Value $99.50/Member Price $89.50
Um- Kurt is OBSESSED with this shirt. He wore it two days in a row last weekend and although he may not want me to divulge that info- it speaks to his love of it. The denim is really nice quality and the shirt overall is almost like a jacket since it has a SUPER soft thermal lining. He's been wearing the tees underneath and with that layering, he barely needed a coat when we were in sunny Cleveland on a couple of unseasonably nice days. The shirt is made with 64% cotton, 34% polyester, 2% spandex and has a front breast pocket. I love the dark denim that can be worn with washed black jeans (like the pair he's wearing in the pic), or a similar dark pair of jeans.
Slub Relaxed Pocket Tee in Bright White, size small - Retail Value $34.50/Member Price $32.50
Kurt is really picky about clothes in general, but a lot of that has to do with the fit. He was skeptical about how the tees he ordered would fit but now that he's worn them he won't stop remarking on how perfect they are! This one is a plain white tee with a pocket that's made of 65% recycled cotton, and 35% cotton which is nice to hear coming from someone who is trying to be more earth-friendly. Kurt said the shirt has the perfect length so he's not showing off any midriff while moving around but he especially loves the weight of the cotton. It's heavy enough to stay put and it doesn't cling like other tees with a slim fit can. Just this morning he told me that he wants more colors in this one!
Striped Slim Tee in Perfect Indigo, size small - Retail Value $34.50/Member Price $32.50
This striped shirt was more of a push from me than anything and Kurt is such a good sport that he went for it. There is something about a striped shirt I love and I thought Kurt would look so darn handsome in it. I think I was right! This one is made with 100% organic cotton and while it doesn't have a pocket like the white one and is slightly more lightweight, it has a similar fit. If Kurt isn't feeling super bold, he can pop his beloved denim shirt over this to mute the stripes a little but still have a fun pattern to break up the solid colors he normally wears. I think this is a really great addition to his wardrobe and he's happy that he stepped out of his comfort zone a little.
The Verdict: Kurt will not stop talking about his haul from Style Plan by Frank And Oak! Out of everything, I think the denim button-down shirt and the tees were his favorites, but he loved the pants so much too! He's a slim guy so we're both so impressed with the fit of everything especially because he is SO PICKY about what he wears. Overall- he can't get over how well-made everything feels and he can't wait to try more.
