Oh dear… I picked the bronzer and the one unboxing I saw had the bronzer as well… I hope I don’t get that variation! I want the palette and that unboxing had the mascara! ;_;

They had said that they were probably not going to get boxes out until the 15th, I am surprised you got one already. Only shipping notice for me so far is the luxe face set replacement (My pop-up order one brush with it’s top half missing completely) and an item I ordered but didn’t receive (they sent me something else entirely which ironically had a higher price tag ta boot).
Yeah, still no new spoilers for premium. Base box is making me want to cry though. The possible palettes I would rather not get and would rather get the variation instead. Luckily they don’t actually look at our profiles though, otherwise I am sure to get the palette instead of the gloss xD

So they are using a lot of old stock it looks like to fill in the base box (they claim you won’t get the same thing twice, so lets see how that goes). It makes me even more worried for premium as there really isn’t any new news for it…

Sooo…. only 2 more days left this month and we still haven’t gotten new spoilers. I wonder if Joe saying boxes aren’t going out until the 15th of next month as a cop-out. Maybe they don’t have everything they need still for next months box shipments and are afraid of giving out spoilers and then not having those items available. So fishy! OR again, it’s just filled with filler crap that is even worst than what we got for choice. Blargh.
On the side, If they do a jouer only box in june, I really hope I actually like more than 2 of the items I receive (like seriously, only the palette and the lipstick were a hit from my Fenty box, I have no business putting gold highlighter on this ultra fair skin and guess what… my stick was gold just like the powder one… fail. I would have to be trying to do a halloween look to pull those off).

Yep. Been asking here for a while – where are the spoilers, it’s billing time, dang it. Well, I can’t wait any longer not knowing which unusable junk will be in BC. I cancelled. I’m slowly and steadily unsubscribing from everything. Don’t miss any of it. And I sure won’t miss BC.

They did so well last year though that I am trying to stick it out and see. Whatever I don’t like or can’t use, I will be putting in christmas boxes next december for the girls. Luckily I know people in skin tones that things that won’t suit me, will suit them.
Looking back at this year so far though… really has been pretty bad. Only thing I was super hyped about getting in my boxes has been the 2 farmacy things. Other than that, if there was something I wanted, it didn’t grace me with it’s presence in my box… but every single youtuber got it =_=

Did anybody else notice that they changed the item in choice for Two Faced Chocolate Soleil Matte Bronzer? I choose this item specifically because it was matte, but today got an email saying I would be receiving the Too Faced – Chocolate GOLD Soleil Bronzer.* UGH I hate shimmery bronzers 🙁

You should have gotten an email inviting you to change your choice from the bronzer to one of the other two items. If you had not gotten that email, boxycharm customers service is really nice and may allow you to still make the change now. Just try to act fast, because the later you try the lower your chance to change will be.

I couldn’t wait any longer. I cancelled a few hours ago. Good riddance, BC. Another shady and very calculated move waiting so late to issue spoilers, hoping subscribers would miss cancellation deadlines. My parents didn’t raise a fool.

They purposely post spoilers late in the month when the box is mediocre. Notice during months with items that attract a big draw (ie: dose of colours palette month) they advertise the crap out of everything. Now? It’s 2/3 of the way through the month and we know choice…🙄

I was thinking the same thing. Though tbh, marvelous mauves (which is the DOC palette I got) was a huge miss for me. It was super patchy and the colors just weren’t really my thing. I LOVE their liquid lip (even if the one I got is by far way too dark on my fair skin), but if all their palettes are like the one I got… I can do without getting another palette from them.
So yup… I am kind of scared of what I will be getting in these boxes… My *gifting* box (items I can’t use get thrown into) is starting to get mighty full. Maybe I should just throw them into a mystery make-up/skin care box on ebay or amazon for like $50 xD at least it would pay for another luxe box lol.

I was so dissapointed… although the total value of the box was over what I paid for it. It’s useless for me… there’s no one single thing I was excited for in the last 3 months… they don’t take into account the beauty quiz. I’ve being on off with it for the last 3 years, and I’ve noticed that after a 5-6 month the quality of the products decreases , more and more fillers. I had base, premium and luxe , I rather save my money and buy something I can use and like… instead of praying every month to actually get things I like.

I have been with Boxycharm since last year. I noticed that in the beginning, I would always get nice products but after a while, it would be more products that are more of filler than something that I can use. Plus, their customer service sucks! I cancelled my May box this month. Not worth of your penny to be honest

It doesn’t even matter if you choose. Twice I haven’t gotten the product I picked. The first time they just said too bad and did nothing. The 2nd time they gave me charms. WTF?? I don’t want a homework assignment to stalk the charm store to be open and to look through the garbage in there. Just send me the product I picked or send me something decent and similar. They are about to have a pop-up so they have plenty of items. I always make my choice as soon as it is open, take screen shots and have even sent an email to confirm (and they confirmed my choice) so I could cancel if they “didn’t have a record of my choice”. None of it mattered. BoxyCharm just can get it together and they seem to struggle with doing the right thing.

I had the same issue!!! And still do!!! I contacted them about it and they told me that once the choice option is over they can’t help me, like THATS NOT WHAT I WAS ASKING!!!
Every time choice comes, it takes me to the regular sub box choice option not the premium so for 6 months now I’ve missed choice for my box because somehow they can’t figure out why on my end it’s not showing up 🤦🏻♀️
I really don’t want to cancel since I do like the premium box and by pure luck I got off the waitlist, but their customer service is crap!

I just got an email offering me the opportunity to change my choice. Apparently the bronzer is featured in the box and should not have appeared as a choice. I could leave it as my choice, but I decided to switch to the eye cream

That’s not what it said, it was the same bronzer just not the Matte one that was shown. And if anyone didn’t want it anymore because of this small mixup they could change.

Wow, that’s the second month in a row that choice has been a fiasco for them. Not a good track record. They’ve really gone off the rails since they started trying to compete with ipsy and Fabfitfun. I liked them better when they were heavy makeup and no variations.

Sign me up with that too!! Heavy makeup, nothing else or slight GOOD skincare once in a blue moon.
I think why they branched out is because people were upset about getting pallettes, blush etc etc. There is only so much makeup you can get. I live playing with the same makeup but different brands/formula so I’d be thrilled for all makeup and one random skincare.
I cant handle hair gunk and stuff like that, I’ve not chosen anything for choice in base/premium /luxe and I keep getting hair items and tools I can not use. I figure at some point not choosing would get me makeup here and there but nope. Then I’m on the fence about what to pick. Like this month, I dont want eye cream and the bronzer I already have when Ulta ran a sale they had the milk chocolate and the shiney one for like 10 dollars so I got both. I dont know anyone whom uses bronzer, but still its easier to give away to friends vs hair stuff and pencil liners and pencil lip liners that pull the ceap out of you skin.

With all due respect, I cancelled Boxy and Fashionsta, the Box due to the products because the items are Made In China.
I went through all my beauty products and got rid of those made in China. Most of it came from beauty boxes and discount hauls.
I know making a living is important but the health of your viewers should be more important.
Yeah, fashionsta seems to be aliexpress /wish type products. They still owe me a box and I dont know if I’m going to stay.
I’m doing the same with China things. I have a lit of Anastasia of Beverly Hills palettes and they are made there and I’m not buying any more after I am done with the 6 or 7 I have . I’ve bought a lot of indie brands that turned out to be made in China for eyeshadow pallettes, so now i email and ask where they are made before buying. It seems random YouTube indy brands are from there most of the time.
I thought the tarte palette was going to be in the luxe box. Has anyone else heard this?

Interesting that in that too faced palette all the light colors have sweet innocent names like “heaven” and all the dark colors have names like “sexpert.” Not sure it’s racist but it seems a little…off.

That’s an interesting observation. My first thought is that lighter eyeshadow colors would be for day looks (work, school, innocent or conservative activities) and darker colors would be for night (dates, going out, sexy time), but it’s wild to see how much language reflects racist or sexist/archaic ideas that are just so ingrained in the culture.

Yup. I had this bronzer a couple of years ago and it was way too dark to work with my fair skin. Looked ridiculous on me- I had to declutter it. Actually, finding a bronzer that is light enough for me is rare. I’ve only found a couple and I’ve tried 20+ different ones.

You guys convinced me! And it makes sense. Since I’m underwhelmed by the choices I’ll let them pick. CS once told me that if you make a choice, they are limited to a smaller number of boxes re: how much they can go by your preferences so what you say makes sense.

Since I have the bronzer in “milk chocolate”, I chose the bronzer. I’m extremely fair, so maybe this will work to have both shades. I especially like that it looks cool-toned.
For the base box, I chose the Hourglass highlighter. Every year, I buy their holiday face palette and have individual Hourglass blushes and bronzers, so it will be nice to add the individual highlighter. Will say, I’m an Hourglass fan, so I would choose anything they make.

Really aggravated!! I have been searching for that bronzer to come back in stock and to find it was an item to pick this next month and it was out of stock within two hours makes me so mad!! Why put something out there that you have such little stock of??? It’s not fair to those of us who really wanted it.

I’m surprised the bronzer is sold out, it seems most decided to choose the eye cream so I thought it would be the one to go, not the bronzer. Sorry about that misfortune. You can try the let them pick option and you may still end up with it. They always claim to be out of stock, but then end up randomly in someones box who wasn’t able to do the choice.

Lame choices! Choice for base box was better, how does that work lol? I really wanted the Kevyn Aucoin mascara that was spoiled but sadly it wasn’t a choice option, had to settle for the bronzer😒

Aren’t Kevyn Aucoin (RIP) products the best?! I have all of his brushes, plus everything they make. Have his books, before contouring and highlighting were mainstream. Excellent books. Surrautt worked under Kevyn while he was alive, so anything of these two lines, I keep a special stash for when I am feeling extra.
