Tiny T.Rex and the Impossible Hug by Jonathan Stutzman - Retail Value $15.99 (found here for $11.18)
This adorable Tiny T.Rex notices that his friend, Pointy, is very sad and knows that a hug could make him feel better. The only problem is that his arms are so tiny, he's not quite sure he can manage such a big hug. He sets about trying to figure out how he can make Pointy feel better and there is a cute and happy ending. This was a sweet, adorable book about friendship and my kids really enjoyed this one!
Dough Knights and Dragons by Dee Leone - Retail Value $16.95 (found here for $13.25)
Once upon a time, it was customary for a dragon to eat a knight and a knight to pierce a dragon with his sword. The only problem is that in this story, the dragon and the knight are friends and don't want to fight or harm one another. They seem to have bonded over food and soon this leads them to a solution. In this fun and sweet rhyming tale, the knight and dragon find a way around these traditional rules that involve making some delicious treats that seem to satisfy those old laws. This was a fun story with a silly ending and some great illustrations.
Verdict: This month's Bookroo picture books were really cute. The T.Rex book was very sweet and simple, and the characters were very cute. Our Dough Knight book was fun and silly and we enjoyed the rhyming tale. Overall, a great box for my kiddos (aged 5, 3, and 2)! The total retail value of our books comes to $32.94 which is pretty good for a $24.94 ($19.95 + $4.99 shipping)/month box. With sale prices it is just a bit less (at $24.43), but there is some added value in the fact that these books are vetted for you in advance and come wrapped up and delivered to your door!
