Enchanted Crystal of the Month Review: Datolite
First, you'll see a greeting from Adam of Enchanted Crystal. I love these personal notes as they explain behind the scenes details. Looks like the team just returned from the Tucson Gem Show!
Our specimen this month is Datolite!
Datolite
FYI: This piece is just under 2 inches long.
This stone is so much prettier in person. It is a pale sea glass sort of green, and the planes of the crystals catch the light beautifully. According to our paper, this is a rarer sort of crystal to find in many collections, and I surely had never heard of it before. Originally discovered in Mexico, veins of Datolite have also been found in Russia.
Enchanted Crystal always sends bonus crystals or minerals in a small bag as well.
Good to Know: These are all under an inch long.
Black Tourmaline
Ahh, black tourmaline. The tall, dark, and handsome of the crystal world. This is a protective sort of stone, and one I am quite partial to personally. This little piece will make a nice complement to the taller tower I already keep on my desk.
Red Calcite
How dreamy is this brick red color? Calcite is always sone of my favorite stones because they look like chunks of antique glass and are full of little lines, freckles, and interesting gradient.
Madagascar Amethyst
Our final mini stones are a pair of very cute little amethyst chunks. Much like the calcite, they have really pretty gradients and a lot of character.
Verdict: Enchanted Crystal sent me a really unique crystal this month that I didn't already have in my collection. That always feels like a treat! As always, I love the extra info behind the mineral and the always cute little bonus crystals.
