Fortune Cookie Soap “Midsummer's Night” April 2020 Review
Here is the info sheet for this month’s box.
Spring Court Linen Spray, 2.1 0z
I know I’ve received linen sprays before and didn’t use them often, but when I was folding laundry the other day I realized I couldn’t find one to use. Thanks for the good timing, FCS! This has a scent blend of “sunkissed citrus, Oberon’s choice of cucumber water, and a delicate wisp of apple blossom.”
For The Fae Shimmer Hair & Body Mist, 1 oz
I never really feel the urge to make my hair sparkle, but I will never say no to some shimmer on my legs and shoulders. Even though this packs a mega-punch of sparkle in the packaging, once applied to my skin the shimmer was actually subtle- you could only see it when the light hit just right. The scent blend of peonies, vanilla, cotton candy, plum, and raspberry amber wasn’t overpowering, either, while still smelling super lovely.
Love Potion Eye Serum, 0.5 oz - Estimated Value $14.99 (based on a previous eye serum with the same ingredients list available from the brand)
This eye serum impressed me- it has a rolling metal ball that was cooling to my skin straight out of the box, no refrigeration required. The serum did have a bit of an oily consistency that I wouldn’t want to have if I was wearing makeup, most likely due to the jojoba oil. This also has caffeine extract, white tea, and hyaluronic acid, and it has a light scent of apricot, peach, green tea, and fig. The scent wasn’t strong enough to irritate my eyes, but I do feel scented eye care products are unnecessary.
Changeling Sea Salt Hair Spray, 2 oz
This hair spray has notes of mandarin, honey, and jasmine, and whole it is my favorite scent blend in the box. This is also the one product that is a complete miss for me- I almost never reach for hair spray and definitely don’t reach for sea salt sprays. I find that this doesn’t work for my hair type, but I know this will be loved by one of my friends.
The Verdict: I love this box- it is an affordable monthly self-care treat, and the scents are always unique and fun. I think the linen spray was my favorite in the box- due to all of the time I’ve spent inside I definitely feel like my apartment needs extra sprucing, and this fills that need perfectly.
