Glow by Local Eclectic Jewelry Review - Spring 2020

From start to finish, this box had a great unboxing experience.

Here are the info sheets about the jewelry in this box. One thing I like about the info sheets that I didn’t notice before is the care instructions on the bottom. The gold plated jewelry is recommended for “occasional” use while the solid gold is recommended for “every day,” and I appreciate this guidance as a jewelry amateur.

The back of the info sheet had more information about the brands that created this unique-t0-the-box jewelry.

This box also usually comes with an ~extra.~ This time around it was this large purple key chain, which will be perfect for my second mail key chilling out in my junk drawer. Now onto the jewelry!

As You Wish Bracelet Set by Tai Jewelry

I almost never wear bracelets because a large part of being an attorney involves typing, and I hate when bracelets are dragging on my keyboard. This bracelet set is demure enough to not have that issue, though they may be more appropriate for casual Friday than when I’m going to court. I *really* appreciate that these bracelets are able to be fastened without the need of me asking someone to help with a clasp, as this exponentially increases the odds of me actually wearing them. These bracelets feature amethyst beads, freshwater pearls, and the gold-plated wishbone charm. While I do really like this set, I worry about the practicality of wearing fabric-based jewelry when I am washing my hands every thirty minutes.

Solid Gold Iolite Studs by Family Gold - Buy a similar pair featuring moonstone instead of iolite for $86 here

This is my first time meeting the gemstone iolite, and I am a fan of its pretty violet hue. A fun tidbit I found while visiting the Google was that Vikings used iolite slices to reduce glare when checking the sun’s position. Here, these indigo-blue/purple shifting baby stones are set in solid gold posts. This is actually my first pair of solid gold earrings, so I appreciate the care instructions printed on the bottom of the info sheet. These studs are small enough to work for ear piercings other than the main ear lobe, but also work as a demure, work-appropriate stud with a small flash of fun color.

Verdict: This box is on the pricier end, and I appreciated that Glow by Local Eclectic created such a lovely unboxing experience and chose beautiful pieces. The quality of the jewelry is definitely there- these are nothing like the fast-fashion jewelry I used to only wear. Also, I am really excited to finally own a pair of earrings set in solid gold! All of the jewelry in this subscription is exclusive, so while I was able to find similar styles for sale in different colors, the exact colors and stones used in this subscription will not be for sale. If you are a fan of dainty, delicate jewelry I definitely recommend checking this out- it feels like a special once-a-quarter treat.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, you will receive the Summer Box.

Value Breakdown: This box costs $99 with free shipping, which means you are paying $49.50 per piece of jewelry.

I am a staunch believer that pineapple doesn’t belong on pizza and when I’m not working as a family law attorney I enjoy hiking the Louisiana trails (alligator sightings are a favorite!) or relaxing with Duchess, my cat. I’m a sucker for anything labeled a mystery box and I’ve never met a bath bomb I didn’t like.

Okay, I LOVE this wishbone bracelet! I don’t mind spending the money as long as it’s quality jewelry but does this box do spoilers or are there other options? I don’t have pierced ears so this box wouldn’t work unfortunately.

Since we’re in the middle of a global pandemic I think worrying about someone’s lack of painted or manicured nails seems senseless.

FWIW Jessica usually has her nails painted.

I’m curious if we can select our metals, too. I love gold jewelry but have learned that the color disappears against my skin tone. 🙁

Hi Alicia!
Unfortunately, you cannot select your metal finish.

Know many legal professionals (wink) and the bracelets would be just fine. Cute pieces, but I would rather have one casual, nice piece that I choose than take a chance on mystery pieces.

Will say that this is a good review of an interesting box. 🙂

Do you get to select your metal finish?

I’m not too picky with jewelry, but I don’t wear gold much so that would be a major turn off! I do adore those earrings though!! I could easily just put them in my second holes and leave them for months lmao

I wouldn’t worry overly about the bracelets if the string is nylon or another synthetic.
