Lip Monthly April 2020 Review
This little card notes that this is our April box and it includes some information about their referral program.
Normally, Lip Monthly sends their products in a little makeup bag (check out past reviews here), but this month we received a simple drawstring pouch with our goodies inside. I'm not sure if this is a permanent change or not!
Naked Cosmetics Eyeshadow in Mother Nature #6 - Retail Value $14.99
This first item is our non-lippie item, a loose eyeshadow in a really fun shade. This pigment has so many different colors in it that seem to shift with the light. There are browns, purples, and grays with a metallic sparkle to them. I have actually sampled this before from another box and I do love the color, but since it is a loose pigment, it's just too messy for me, personally. It lasted a few hours, but not as long as I would have liked it to without primer.
I was worried the color would be too dark for me, but the magic color somehow works! I really wish this was a solid shadow because it's such a beautiful and versatile color!
Noyah Organic Vanilla Lip Balm - Retail Value $3.99
Our first lip item is another one I have sampled before and it's a basic vanilla lip balm that works well to hydrate your lips with a very light flavor and scent. This organic balm is made in the US and contains only 5-ingredients: coconut oil, beeswax, olive oil, stevia, and natural flavor. I'm always happy to have another lip balm that I will inevitably misplace! Haha.
Laritzy Long-Lasting Liquid Lipstick in Whip - Retail Value $20.00
This liquid lipstick goes on smooth and dries quickly. I was worried the color would be too orange for my skin tone, but it turned out to be more of a rust color with a hint of pink in it, so it was more flattering than I anticipated. While I was okay with the color it ended up drying to a really chalky finish that I didn't like the look of and it was pretty drying for my lips. It had decent staying power though and I'm sure others who enjoy a matte finish (and have better hydrated lips!) would like this formula!
Here it is on. It doesn't look so chalky here since it was right after applying it, but that came soon after.
Bellapierre Glitz it Up in Anemone - Retail Value $20.00
This liquid lipstick is so unique! It is a matte to glitter finish and the color is gorgeous. This lippie feels like a commitment since it dries down so quickly and the color is so intense, but it actually removed easier than I thought. When it gets wet it seems to rub off a bit, but otherwise, the staying power is good. I had to actually line the inside of my lips with this one because it was such an intense color in comparison to my mouth. I actually love this for an incredibly bold lip, although my kids looked at me like I was crazy. It comes across as red, but it leans a little pink and has tiny blue and purple sparkles in it when it dries that you can only see up close. The glitter is really fun without standing out in a wild way.
Here it is on. It's really dramatic, but so fun!
Swatched from top to bottom we have the Laritzy, Bellapierre, and Naked Cosmetics.
Verdict: This month's Lip Monthly bag had a good range in colors. While the Laritzy wasn't great for me personally, I liked the color and the Bellapierre is a really fun and bold lipstick that was very different. The eyeshadow is really pretty and even though it is loose I might have to make an exception since it is so unique. The lip balm is, of course, a basic necessity, so all-around, a pretty decent collection. Especially considering the total retail value is $58.98 which is awesome for a $12.95/month subscription with a promised value of $50+!
