Simply Earth Essential Oil Recipe Box Review
Ready for another month of oils?
The first things I grabbed from the package were two cards with a note from Katie (the curator and aromatherapist behind this box!) and all the info on the included oils this month. It also let me know that 13% of my purchase cost was donated to Disrupting Traffick, a non-profit dedicated to providing survivors of human trafficking supportive services. It makes me feel extra excited to support companies that give back and deliver awesome boxes.
Also included were 6 recipe cards and coordinating stickers to use on all my handmade items!
Now, for the oils I received this month:
Tea Tree Essential Oil, 15 ml - Retail Value $12.99
From Simply Earth:
Tea Tree Essential Oil is one the best known and loved oils around the world. It has been affectionately known as “First Aid in a Bottle” as it is amazing for skin care, natural cleaning, and respiratory support. It can also be beneficial for those in need of confidence.
I adore the medicinal scent of tea tree oil. It makes me feel so clean and fresh and I use it for a few different things around the house. My favorite uses are in a spray bottle with some sweet orange as a room refreshing scent that doubles as a wrinkle releaser if I mist a top or blouse and then toss it into the dryer on air dry. I also love to dilute it down with water and use it on my skin when I get hot during the summer. Thighs rubbing together? Add a drop of this to some coconut oil to soothe your angry skin!
Lemongrass Essential Oil, 15 ml - Retail Value $8.99
From Simply Earth:
Lemongrass can be found in traditional Indian medicine, used to treat infectious illnesses and fevers. The essential oil is used in aromatherapy because of its countless benefits to mental well-being.
Believe it or not, I really dislike lemongrass. It reminds me so much of citronella! I know loads of people really love it though (including my mom!) so this will be a nice gift, especially for spring and summer diffuser users!
Peppermint Essential Oil, 15 ml – Retail Value $12.99
From Simply Earth:
Peppermint has always been popular as a flavor enhancer in food and drinks. Other than its distinct flavor, it also has a cooling effect and can help relieve head tension and aid in digestion.
Peppermint is another hard sell for me, but mix it with sweet orange? Wowza! It makes my whole house smell clean and bright.
Clean & Fresh Essential Oil, 15 ml – Retail Value $11.99
From Simply Earth:
The perfect blend of the outdoors and citrus, Simply Earth's Clean and Fresh Essential Oil Blend was created to brighten your day. Clean & Fresh gives you the boost of energy you need to clean your home naturally.
I am loving this blend of fir needle, neroli, lemon, and grapefruit oils. It smells like if a citrus grove was within a forest.
1 oz Container
These little containers are always handy to have around, especially for blends that involve a carrier oil. They allow you to carry a little on the go without big spills!
Spray Bottle
I am always mixing up different oil + water spritzes to use all over the house. This little bottle makes it a breeze and I really appreciate the fine mist that comes from the nozzle. It is perfect for making facial toners. Speaking of toners, I recommend trying filling this bottle 3/4ths of the way with water, topping off with witch hazel, and adding in 1-2 drops of tea tree oil. It makes a super refreshing toner that your skin will love!
Bamboo Toothbrush
Our last item is a bamboo toothbrush which can be used with the included grout cleaner recipe or just as a regular toothbrush for those of us looking to use less plastic!
Verdict: Simply Earth this month wasn't my absolute favorite, but there were still some gems in here, particularly for lovers of peppermint and lemongrass! I did really love the tea tree oil and the Fresh & Clean blend, and can see them getting loads of use in my home this summer.
