Surprisly April 2020 Review

Organic Pajama Set from Modern Burlap, White on Black Arrows - Retail Value $36

This is the "sleepy time" outfit this month. This is a brand I know! I love their products - they are mostly all cool black-and-white graphic designs and they even have some Bible verse graphics that are really pretty and make great baby gifts if that's something you're into. The quality of these PJs is awesome! The sleeves and legs are nice and long and the fabric is thick and stretchy. I want a matching pair of pajamas for myself!

Long Sleeve Romper from Winter Water Factory, Giraffes Yellow - Retail Value $48

This is the "playtime" outfit in our box this month. I love the graphics of this too! I don't have a lot of yellow for my daughter but it's such a pretty, sunny color and makes me happy. The black and white giraffe + leaf print on here is graphic and cool. The legs are a little short, as you can see, so when she sits up the ride up a little bit. That doesn't bother me too much, though, because it's warming up around here. She has some room to grow in the body of this one, too.

Winter Blossom Run Free Dress from Little Green Radicals - Retail Value ~$37.55 (£30)

Gold Leggings from Little Green Radicals - Retail Value ~$15 (£12)

This is the "day out" outfit! Oh my WORD how sweet is this dress? This is another outfit of which I want a matching version in my size! The "Winter Blossom" print is beautiful and the drop waist fits in a really cute way. There's really no stretch to it, so it has a zipper up the back.

The gold leggings are 95% organic & fair trade cotton and 5% elastane. These are a great color for Spring & Summer and the fit is great. Because they're a good basic legging they will be really versatile and be a part of lots of outfits.

Verdict: I am really enjoying my Surprisly subscription! I look forward to it every month. They send such adorable outfits from brands I wouldn't have found on my own and that are really great quality.  I enjoy the fact that they specifically send three categories of outfits (playtime, snooze time, and day out). The items I've received from them have been some of my favorites and are reached for over and over when dressing her. They've stood up to wear and washing really well and I can tell they'll last a long time. This is really important to me because I feel like I'm getting the quality I expect from the price of the box and the retail values of the brands they send. Speaking of retail value, the total value of this box comes to $136.55, which just shy of twice the box cost. The priority here is truly high quality, exclusively natural materials, and sustainability.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Each box is created specifically for your baby’s gender, age, and clothing size so there's a wide variation between boxes.

Value Breakdown: This box costs $69 + free shipping, and has a retail value of about $136.55. Here's how that breaks down per item:

  • Dress: $18.97
  • Leggings: $7.58

Alternatively, each piece costs an average of $17.25 per item.

I love these reviews but I can’t bring myself to spend this much on the sub when I can get really great outfits that I pick for my little from the amazon/hanna andersson collab (moon and back brand) for $10-15 each and they are super high quality, soft, and fit her perfect. If the box was $35-40 I would totally jump on it!

How many items would make that a good buy? I wonder what the fabric feels like, it looks very comfortable, just not affordable.
