Culture Carton came with a welcome card this month that explains how Apollo is the inspiration for this subscription since he was essentially thought to be "the god of culture." It also arrived with an info card that lists the items in the box this month.

The Expats by Chris Pavone - Retail Value $16 (found here for $11.83)
My husband has always been obsessed with mysteries and spy novels. So, we were both really excited to see this book! There is something about summer that makes me want to dig into a good novel, especially one that is filled with suspense and wonderful character building. My husband decided to start reading this first, and he said that so far it is amazing! He said he is struggling to set it down at night because the story is wonderfully written with great attention to detail from the characters to the setting. I can't wait to get a chance to read this as well!

Skinny Tie Madness Tie - Listed Value $30.00
This tie is beautiful! It is a cotton/polyester blend so it has that perfect look and feel to wear in the summer. It would be great to wear to work or for a summer wedding. I could see it being great with a denim button-down or a white shirt and grey suit. The color is that perfect mix between a pink and lavender which I love and it makes it so easy to wear with different looks. My husband doesn't have to dress up for work so he is rarely ever in a tie, which sort of bums me out. Since I know he won't get a lot of wear out of this, I decided to pass it along to my Dad who was really loving the look of this tie when I showed it to him. I know he will get a lot of wear out of it!

Four Fifty Five Pocket Square - Listed Value $12.00
I honestly love it when men wear a pocket square. It completes a look and really shows that you care. You heard it here, gentlemen, wear that pocket square! My husband always buys a new pocket square if we have a wedding or event to go to. Since those are slowing a bit right now, I decided to pass this along to my Dad since it matches the tie, which I absolutely love that they sent along two items that match so well. The pocket square itself is hand-made of 100% cotton, you can really feel and see the quality with this!

Dead Soxy Socks - Retail Value $27 (found on sale here for $9)
My husband loves collecting socks, they are the final piece in that finished look for him. He was really excited to see a new set of socks this month! While they aren't exactly his style, he likes the traditional pattern set with the bolder colors. The fabric is a blend of bamboo rayon, polyester, and elastane. He said that they are pretty light, making them great to wear in the summer, while still being comfortable.

Collar Stays by Soft Landing Brand - Listed Value $20
My husband really doesn't dress up that often, so collared shirts that would require a collar stay are not something he really owns or uses. I really think this is a great item to include in this month's box though! It shows a complete curation pairing this with the other items and feels like that final thoughtful touch. For me, seeing these in the box reminded me of my Dad when I was little, finding his new collar stays on his dresser while I sat in my parent's room while they got ready for work in the mornings. So, along with the tie and pocket square, I decided to pass these along to my Dad who was very grateful!
The Verdict: Culture Carton was filled with some amazing items this month! This was my first time receiving the box, and it is safe to say that we all loved it (by we I mean myself, my husband, and my Dad). Honestly, curation is key for me, and this box had it all! The tie matched the pocket square, the socks could very easily be included in that matching game as well, or everything could be worn on its own as well. The collar stays are the perfect item to include in a box for gentlemen that has a tie and pocket square. The book is an absolute hit with my husband so far and felt like the perfect summer read; hopefully, I will get to read it soon! The total retail value of this box is an estimated $105 which is pretty amazing for the $53.27 cost. With amazing curation and quality products, I think this box would make the perfect gift for any man in your life from a brother, a husband, dad, or friend!
