BoxyCharm Premium July 2020 Review
Each box comes with a card detailing the items included and often listing upcoming sales and promotions. It looks like my assortment this month is box #49.
Now, on to the items!
MORPHE x Manny MUA Glam Palette - Retail Value $20.00
What is it about palettes that get me so excited? I have so many at this point, but something about a fresh one filled with a new combo of colors just makes me so happy. This is a very pretty assortment of nudes, warm creams, rich russets, and a bold magenta. It also contains two shimmering highlighters. All of these shades performed well, but the shimmering zodiacs were by far the stars of there show. Aries in particular is a stunning deep reddish-brown with a teal shimmer. The mattes performed fine too, though that magenta shade did need a little coaxing. The highlighters were both beautiful on and applied like a dream with my favorite large fluffy brush!
Top to bottom: Dust Cloud, Scorpio, Fire Witch, Leo, Sophie, and Spellbound.
Top to bottom: Cancer, Zaya, Boy Next Door, Gamenta, Aries, and Howl.
Apollo and Nova highlighters.
Lord Jones High CBD Formula Body Lotion, 50 mL - Retail Value $40.00
I have sensitive calves that react really badly to the majority of lotions I try on them. They get angry red bumps that last for days! I have to be careful with the lotions I apply for this reason. When I saw this one was fragrance-free, I immediately thought it might be a good fit. I have also found that formulas with CBD help with redness on my face, so why not my legs too? Happily, my hopes were rewarded. My legs love this stuff! I am actually sad the bottle is on the smaller end.
Perricone MD No Makeup Lipstick, 4.2 g - Retail Value $30.00
I think this was my favorite item this month. I love natural looking lipstick and this is more of a nourishing and hydrating balm with a sophisticated feel. Even the tube design was thoughtful! The cap screws into place so it won't get misplaced in the bottom of your purse. The shade of this lippy was a sheer wash of natural pink that enhanced my lips with a beautiful flush while delivering a dose of hydration thanks to the jojoba oil inside. I also appreciate the SPF 15!
I love this stuff!
Nelson J Beverly Hill Argan Oil 7 Moisture Healing Mask, 3.4 oz - Retail Value $24.00
Wow, this stuff is coconutty! If you love smelling like the tropics, this is for you. I found it a little overwhelming. The mask itself works great though, scent aside. The cream inside is thick and heavy, and a little goes a long way to coat dry strands. It is also a pretty quick mask, too! You apply it to towel-dried hair, leave on for a minute, then rinse. Of course, you can totally leave it on longer if you want. It created a softness in my hair that was a little slippy, but still left my natural almost-waves intact.
Brow Bar by Reema Hollywood Icon Face Kit in 'Drama Queen' - Retail Value $45.00
I have never heard of this brand, but the color palette inside this gold compact is very pretty! It isn't one of those palettes where everything is absolutely useful to me, but that is ok. I actually really appreciate that there is a translucent powder inside because I use that a lot and in the middle of the day. My nose and forehead can always use a little touch-up. Also included was a peachy terra-cotta blush, two bronzers that honestly could both also be blushes, 4 eye shadows, and two highlighters. Everything has pretty nice pigment in here! The eyeshadows were especially stunning together and very smooth! The green is filled with so much shimmer. It also arrived with a double-ended brush. I don't think this is a $45 palette. But it is still a nice palette!
Top to bottom: Translucent powder, blush, and 2 bronzers.
The 4 included eyeshadows.
And the two highlighters!
BoxyCharm Neon Jelly Pouch with Poms
I don't think I like this bag, and I certainly don't like it compared to the option of a beauty or makeup item instead. I mean, it's kind of cute... I like pom poms... but this fell flat for me.
Verdict: My BoxyCharm Premium had a value of $159 without the orange bag, which is good for a $35 box for sure. I admittedly wasn't as taken with every single item inside. My favorites were the Perricone MD lipstick, Morphe palette, and Lord Jones lotion. I could have totally skipped that orange bag. The hair mask and second palette were both nice but not favorite items in my collection by any means. Either way, the value was very much here this month, I just think the assortment might have been a little off for me.
