Fabletics is a monthly fitness apparel subscription co-founded by Kate Hudson. In fact, it's one of our readers' top picks for Best Fitness Subscription Boxes of 2020! The VIP Membership is $49.95/month and allows you to choose from outfits and sets that have been put together just for members at a discounted price.

You can shop Fabletics in two ways—you can shop the regular store, or you can sign up for their VIP membership. VIP memberships work like this:

  • Take the Fabletics quiz, which will let the company know your size, style, and fitness needs.
  • Each month, Fabletics will curate looks that match your preferences. According to the website, outfits start at $24.00 for new VIP members. (It's unclear if "new members" refers to just your first order, though.)
  • Shop those looks at 40-50% off what you'd get just paying retail, or skip the month. You have to make your decision by the 5th of the month. If you do neither, the $49.95 monthly membership fee will be saved to your account as a credit, which you can put towards other outfits later.
  • As you shop, you'll also earn points that can be applied to accessories and other cool fitness essentials.

Put simply, this subscription won't automatically send you monthly packages like other services do. (But they will automatically charge you if you take no action.) You have to hop into your account and either decide to add items to your card or skip it. Subscriptions can be canceled at any time, though you do have to call into Fabletics customer service to do it.

FYI, COVID-19 Update:

Ready, Set, Ship: Our shipping times are now 100% back to normal & select retail stores have reopened, but health & safety is still our top priority. Read more here.

Fabletics VIP Membership Review - July 2020

After ordering, I received two separate tracking numbers, as my items were shipping from different places. I received one package on July 11th, but it didn't include any order info, which I assume was in the 2nd package that I never received... more on that below.

Dynamic High-Waisted Lattice 7/8 Leggings - Retail Value $79.95/VIP Member Price $59.95, New VIP Member Price $14.41

This is my first item ever from Fabletics and I have to say I am extremely pleased with these leggings! As a mom of two very busy boys, I find myself running around A LOT. While I enjoy wearing skirts and dresses out and about, leggings and yoga pants are my go-to at home. Although I don't have a gym membership, I do enjoy running, hiking, exercise videos (especially Leslie Sansone's "Walk Away the Pounds"), and kettlebell workouts that I can do at my home. For these activities, I found these leggings to be just what I needed to perform all of these tasks with no riding up, falling down, or extreme heat. I love, love, love the max compression feature these leggings offer, and felt the high waistband sat at a comfortable height for jogging without sagging. The inside of the waistband even has a built-in pocket for storage! Most of my leggings are basic black with no frills, so when I was scoping out the website, I found myself drawn to pairs with extra details, and fell in love with this mesh-paneled lattice pair. I was a bit worried the mesh would be itchy, but I found it to be soft and comfy, all while looking adorable! While the retail price is wayyyy out of my league, I was happy to get them at the discounted price as a new VIP  member, and will definitely be watching for sales to pick up another pair.

Here are the leggings I chose paired with a colorful tank for an afternoon jog, as well as with a sweatshirt for a Netflix binge. Because I wear my phone in a case on my arm, I didn't try it out in the secret pocket, but I did manage to fit my husband's wallet inside. I don't know how comfortable it would be to jog with something that large in the pocket, but it is a swell addition for everyday use! Isn't that lattice detailing cute?!

Isabel Wide-Sleeved Pullover - Retail Value $38.46

This adorable wide-sleeved pullover was one of the other items I chose for this month, but due to being lost in transit, I never received it. After a chat with customer service, I was given the option between a replacement or a refund, and because they didn't have a replacement in my size, I was offered the refund... more on that process below if you are interested. So disappointed!

Irene Skort - Retail Value $39.95

Alas, this skort was another part of my shipment that was lost, and again, they didn't have this particular item in my size, so I was issued a refund.

The Verdict: This month was my first month ordering from Fabletics and the process was quite interesting. On July 1st, I logged onto their website at 8 a.m. to choose my first VIP items. This month their new VIP deal was two pairs of leggings for $24. I soon filled my cart with black leggings, a white skort (because all bottoms were included in the 2 for $24,) and a long-sleeved sweatshirt. As I went to checkout, their entire website froze up and kicked me out. This happened a few times until I eventually gave up and tried later. Thankfully, when I tried that afternoon, all the items were still in my cart, and checkout went through without a hitch. I was quickly sent an email with a delivery date of July 9th and a copy of my order. Hooray! On July 11th, I received the pair of black leggings without any type of paperwork. Because I received 2 separate tracking numbers I figured it would come with the second package. Sadly, by July 22nd, I still had not received my skort or sweatshirt, so I called customer service to see what was up. After only one minute on hold, I was speaking with a very helpful gal that apologized for the delay. After digging into my tracking information, she found that the package seemed to have gotten lost. I was then offered a replacement, which I requested, but they no longer had the two items in my size, so I was granted a refund. I was truly disappointed that my first go around with this subscription was such a fiasco, especially when I really, really, really had my heart set on those items. I really did love the leggings and was very happy with the quality, so I'm hoping my order in August goes through uneventfully!

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this item if you sign up today? Possibly, as all items are still available but in limited sizes.

Value Breakdown: My original order total for the three items as a new VIP member was $51.47. Because I didn't receive 2 of the 3 items, I was issued a refund for $37.06 meaning the leggings were $14.41.

I think they have had either a disruption in their supply chain or a huge influx of new orders because everybody wants new athletic & loungewear working at home (Or a combination of the two) because they have been sold out of everything recently, way quicker than normal, and have not had any of their usual sales (I assume bc everything is selling for full price)

I don’t shop with them anymore because I have found that if I even wait to log on in the afternoon Of the 1st, all of the new outfits are sold out in my size. I guess I wear common sizes (large bottoms, XL top and XXL bra) but it never used to be like this. I mean, sold out in half a day?! I feel like giving VIP customers (but only those in certain tiers) advance shopping time before the first is selling out the sizes, which is very frustrating because I used to buy an outfit almost every month.

Yeah I was really bummed about the ordering glitches! This month I logged in at 3:30 a.m. and had no problem ordering new items, so that must be the ticket! Here’s to hoping I receive everything this month!! Thanks for commenting Gabbi <3

Becca that is truly a bummer since that was the best price for being new. You should ask for the same price for August since it wasn’t your fault.
