BoxyCharm August 2020 Review
Happy to see an included info card this month. My variation is #14.
Let's see what I received!
QMS Medicosmetics Active Glow Tinted Day Cream, 50 mL - Retail Value $105.00
QMS is one of those brands with such a wild price tag. While I would never pay this much for probably any sort of tinted cream, I do use them all the time and I thought this might be nice to try. The tint in this product is "designed to work with every skin tone" but did not work for me. I assumed it would kind of just fade to nothingness when rubbed in, but it added a lot of shade and warmth to my pale skin and just wasn't a good match. I think if this tint works for you, you will probably like this because it seems to be a pretty decent day moisturizer. But for me, it was a miss.
Almost!
Butter London Teddy Boy Eyeshadow Palette - Retail Value $28.00
First off, I really like this assortment of colors. It's a nice mix of warmer and neutral browns with a gorgeous cool slate grey and black. I also appreciate both of the lighter shades because they are perfect for under my brow. Performance is a mixed bag here. These just really don't work well with brushes! They become powdery, messy, and don't apply to the skin well. Use your fingertips and these shades shine! Pigment issues and fallout are minimal. 'Rupert' was the only shade that was, well, kind of terrible. It didn't want to leave that pan by fingertip or brush! Regardless, I like how '90s neutral these colors feel, I just plan on only applying via fingertip and pretending 'Rupert' doesn't exist!

MILK MAKEUP Cooling Water Eye Patches - Retail Value $22.00
Big Milk Makeup fan here. I love how cool and effortless their products feel. These eye patches are the sort that are on more of a fabric backing and aren't wet. They are sticky though and they begin to cool your skin on contact! Of course, this is only magnified when you stick them in the fridge for a little while before application. I just arrived in Tennessee after an 11-hour road trip I drove solo, so my face is a little worse for wear, especially under my eyes. I applied these and took a nap in them (oops) and I was pretty thrilled with how de-puffed my skin looked and how energizing they were.
Cute!
Morphe 'Eye Got This' Brush Kit - Retail Value $12.00
I have LOADS of Morphe brises thanks to my LiveGlam Brush Club subscription, but I will always take more, especially if they are shadow brushes! This set of 4 includes an angled liner, 2 blenders, and an oval shadow brush. While they didn't work well with the included palette this month (womp womp) they are a solid little bundle for most of your eyeshadow looks.
Rockins Cosmetics Big Fat Liner - Listed Value $25.00
I have never heard of this brand and I couldn't find much online other than a 'coming soon' sort of launch page. The design of the packaging here is very cute, but dang, I really don't need or want any more black eyeliner. If you are on the hunt for some, this formula is fine. I like that you can get either a thin or super thick line from this brush tip.
Verdict: My BoxyCharm box has an overall value of at least $167 even without the liner value that I could not verify. This assortment was ok. I loved the Milk eye patches and thought the Teddy palette was a pretty well done and unusual sort of color choice. I am also always happy to have more brushes. The QMS cream was a dud for me and I was just not happy to see another black liner, though I do have to give props for it being from a newer brand.
