IPSY Glam Bag Plus Review – August 2020

I have been trying to figure out where to write a review and this is the only public forum I could find. I ordered a Glam Bag Plus and was excited for it to come in I waited several weeks and decided I could not afford to continue with later months. I had assumed cancelling the membership did not mean no longer receiving the first bag that should have already been on the way but apparently it did. I paid for the first month of the Glam Bag Plus as soon as I purchased it and it is non refundable. I was still looking forward to the receiving the bag but apparently will not be receiving it and wasted my money. I’m very disappointed.

it’s Aug 30th. My GBP box has been sitting in DHL since Aug 13th. No movement to Chicago from Texas.

I received someone else’s GBP instead of my pop-up order.

It had a bag that was different to the pink-with-glitter logo from this month’s drawstring bag, & came with a “welcome” insert card. I wonder if all new subscribers will receive this “welcome” bag, or if Ipsy will only send it on months when they run out of stock of the monthly bag.

It had:
– Murad cleanser (Sis was happy)
– Nomad Cosmetics Berlin palette (already own it)
– MotD eye brush set
– Dr Brandt primer
– Thrive mascara

its been 10 days sitting with DHL and NO movement whatsoever. i’ve already skipped my reg and GBP for next month. at this rate, i have little hope of it showing up this month, let alone complete as 3 of my bags have been pilfered and my last bag never arrived at all (lost by USPS).

i also dont like the fact that you only have til the end of the month to skip, but you can’t see your pick choices until the 2nd or 3rd of the following month… so if you don’t like the options, its too late to skip.

Ipsy choose the same Huda lippie shade for me. I love it! ❤️❤️❤️ They also choose the 111skin cyro booster. Excited to try it. I choose the four piece brush set by laruce, the watermelon setting powder by ciate London, and the eyeliner in gilded bronze by Laura Geller. The formula is nice and creamy and seems to have stay power but to me it just looks brown not bronzey. I added the Luna night oil which I am loving, some coffee scrub, and those cute scrunchies which I am also loving.
I’m really enjoying picking three things. They kinda still seem like fillers but at least the are my choice of fillers.
I love that we have add-ons and flash sales a lot. I threw out all my old mail polish and I’m currently rebuilding at a very low cost with higher end nail polish thanks to ipsy 😉

I’m still waiting for my bag. Every time I click on the tracking link I get the “hey, we are DHL and we suck. Let’s blame covid” message. Hopefully I receive it this month. Been having all kinds of issues when vendors choose DHL.

Now I am wishing I would have grabbed one of those Huda lipsticks as an add-on. 🙁

I’m honestly ecstatic that they let us choose now. I didn’t get any “WOW” options, but everything is something I can actually use and that makes me very happy.

I got the coffee scrub too but for a different use…I love the coffee scrubs that come in the tan envelopes (and also the minetan) but they’re so messy. I mix them with some of this coffee face scrub & use it as a body wash/scrub. It’s MUCH less messy this way.

My plus bag is fantastic love everything. I also have the coffee bean face scrub haven’t tried yet have a few opened the mascara, my favorite Bailey palette , pigment is great love the shades. One I will be using often.

Hi All! Quick question…if I subscribed to Ipsy Plus today, would I receive the September bag? And if so, would I be charged today or on the 1st?

I would have loved to see the items that you didn’t choose when you made your selections. Maybe next time?

I received a bonus Huda Beauty set with my order. Not sure if I was supposed to get it (I’ve emailed Ipsy care offering to send it back) but even without the extra, I am really liking the 3 choice items and my add-ons. I hope everyone loves their GBP.

I think that the new choice program is a great experience and resulted in a great August GBP. I especially love the Complex Culture Powder brush and the Bailey Sarian eyeshadow palette. I would have been happier with the Huda lippie if it came in a better color for me, but agree with Megan that this month’s box Is very edited and clean.

Glam bag plus can’t be shipped to Canada 🙁 only the regular glam bag. So for the Canadian readers, don’t get excited when you read the ships to part, it’s not correct.

I got a full size 111skin item ($135 are you kidding me!!) and bonus extra wander beauty brow gel…I loved everything I received!

I am super happy with my Ipsy Plus this month and I am very, very happy with all of my products, even the Huda lip color which I initially thought I would have to pass on. The actual shade is very different than the Ipsy pic of the color and the Huda description. Sounds like I need to try that facial cleanser.

The changes to Plus made for my best experience with Ipsy to date. I got different choices than this review (for example Eyeko wasn’t an option), but was super happy. I adore the pick 3. I’m thinking of canceling the regular glam bag and budgeting that amount for an add-on or two.

I am really enjoying the three items I picked and the serum that Ipsy picked for me. The Huda lippie was gifted. I think that Ipsy worked out a great system with plenty of choice, and you can’t beat five full size items for $25 plus tax.

From reading comments in a previous post, it seems that your choices change if you don’t pick when you first look at them. This likely reflects changes in inventory as others pick their choices. So if you log in and don’t like what you see, leave it alone and come back to it in a few hours.

I was bummed on my Huda shade. So not for me. My bff will love it though.

And that is one of my favorite cleansers! I was so excited to be able to pick it. The scent energizes me a bit and it cleans my face just right.
