Nomadik "Fix It" Review

There is a small trifold pamphlet that goes over the three items included in this month's box as well as Nomadik tips, the Nomadik challenge, and some brand discounts.

Tactica Gear M250 Standard - Retail Value $49.95

Oooooh! Will is going to LOVE this. I have never seen a man who loses hex bits more often. Seriously. It would be comical if he didn't always kind of need them for house and yard work and all of his random projects. I am hoping the fact that these all nestle into themselves and should be easy to keep together means maybe this bad habit is at an end. This little kit has 12 of the most common sizes and they all can be swapped out and used easily.

FixnZip Medium - Retail Value $10.99

This box is shaping up to be so practical! Along with his talent at losing hex bits, Will is also an accomplished zipper buster. Especially when it comes to his favorite winter coat. I have a seamstress friend who has repaired it a number of times, but this might save me a trip this coming winter. This genius little thing is easy to use. Simply add it to your broken zipper, tighten the screw, and voila! This should at least get him through the winter if he breaks it again!

Gear Aid Tenacious Tape - Retail $5.25

Our go-to tent is on the older side, and tents of a certain age tend to have little cuts and scrapes that need mending. This clear tape is just the ticket to instant and lasting repairs. If you end up with a slice in your fave puffy coat you can apply this, wait 24 hours, and it is totally safe to toss in the washing machine. That is some useful and strong tape!

Gear Aid Ellipse Cord Locks - Retail Value $3.o0

These toggles are handy to have on hand if you happen to lose them off of a fave coat or jacket. Simply compress the spring-loaded button and slide it back onto your cords of choice.

RX AM Oats in 'Vanilla Almond' - Buy 12 cups for $34.99

I am always down for a healthy snack, and I happen to love the bars from this brand. This was simple to make. Just add boiling hot water and wait. The vanilla flavor with the sliced almonds felt like a real treat, especially if you cheat a little and add just a little raw sugar.

Verdict: This month's Nomadik box was all about practical items! They may not be super exciting all the time, but when you need them, the items in this box will solve a lot of problems. I am happy to add all of them to our "fix it" drawer though they would all be just as helpful in your camping kit! This subscription always delivers on super helpful and functional items and I feel like this month took that theme to a totally different level.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Your first box will be the Welcome box. More from Nomadik:

I love natural/vegan beauty products, Korean skincare, unique jewelry, and weird candies from far away places. When I am not waiting for my next exciting box you can find me painting or taking photographs of interesting people. I never leave home without pug hair somewhere on my shirt and a bold lipstick on my smile.

As someone who can’t fix anything, these items would have been pretty useless to me (but useful sometime down the line when I’ll think “finally!! I can use this!”) lol

hmm some of these items are really doing the rounds amongst outdoor subscription boxes right now (The tactica has also been in the latest battlbox and drawn a lot of ire about its stated value), and the zip thing is going to be released in another that I wont spoil. Another example of this was the leatherman in that same battlbox being in ANOTHER subscription box the same month…

I hope this isnt a trend that all the subscription boxes just by like overstock items or something at once. It makes it feel less special like hey we found this awesome unique item for you and more like you’re just buying a random monthly bundle of liquidated items or something :/

Must admit aside from that general gripe objectively this is a good haul of very handy items 🙂
