Rocksbox is a jewelry styling and renting service. Members pay a flat rate every month to get unlimited access to the Rocksbox collection and the option to buy the pieces they love most at a discounted price. Right now, you can even get your first month of Rocksbox membership for free! (Read on to learn how, or check out our list of other free subscription boxes here!)
FYI - COVID-19 Update: You can read about how Rocksbox is committed to the safety of its team, subscribers, and community here.
Upon subscribing, you'll take a "style survey" so Rocksbox can suggest jewelry pieces that fit your style. You can also browse their catalog and add pieces to your wishlist. Each month, Rocksbox will curate sets of three pieces to send your way, including at least one piece from your wishlist.
Try on the items from the box and wear them as long as you'd like. From there, you have two choices. If you love any of the pieces enough to want to keep them, you can put your monthly "Shine Credit" towards your purchase.
Or, if you're ready for another style, return your box using the free shipping label and reusable envelope you got with your shipment. Shortly after, you'll get a brand new box of jewelry to enjoy!
This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

Rocksbox Rental Jewelry July 2020 Review
Here's the info booklet that came with the jewelry set. It includes a product list with retail and member-specific pricing. Also included was a jewelry care card.
A free return shipping label is also at the bottom of the box.
FYI: The outer envelope that Rocksbox ships inside doubles as a return shipping envelope! Be careful as you cut it open—there's a second adhesive strip that can be used to reseal the envelope for its trip back.
SLATE Dax Hoops - Retail Value $40.00, Member Price $34.00
I have really been feeling bolder hoop earrings lately. I think it must be because they show up well over Zoom meetings! These are the perfect size but have a chunky feel to them and a tubular shape. They have enough weight to feel like they are well-made but still feel light on my earlobes.
These pair perfectly with my fave rose gold huggie!
SLATE Indie Necklace - Retail Value $60.00, Member Price $51.00
I loved the look of this necklace but it felt a little too light for how big the chain feels. Three pavé set links are built into the chain and add a little extra sparkle and texture. I wore this on the smallest setting to look like a choker, but this could also be worn a lot looser!
Here is the necklace paired with my current fave combo from Marla Aaron.
Rudiment Castro Pendant - Retail Value $70.00, Member Price $59.00
My last piece is a truly beautiful golden disk featuring a moon, mother of pearl sky, and a wishing star. The finish of the gold isn't shiny, but more of a matte look which suits the piece really well and makes it feel more expensive. It looked incredible layered with other necklaces.
All three of these pieces look so good together!
The Verdict: My Rocksbox pieces in July were all gold and they all coordinated beautifully together for a complete look. It would be hard to pick a favorite this month because the hoops and the moon pendant were both pretty excellent. The chain necklace looked great in pictures but just felt too light for me to ever consider dropping $51 on it. Still, this was a really great month full of pieces that looked very special on, especially when layered with others.
To Wrap Up:
Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Every box is different and packed based on the customer's tastes and what's available at the time. You can, however, give the Rocksbox stylists a nudge by adding your favorite pieces to your wishlist!
Value Breakdown: Rocksbox membership costs $21.00 per month. At retail, the three pieces would cost me $170.00. With my Rocksbox discounts and the member pricing (including the buy-all-three-items discount, and the $21.00 of Shine Credit [the membership fee for the month, which goes towards your purchases]), my $10 forever credit, and the $10 buy-all-three discount, that price drops to $103.00.
