Scent Box July 2020 Review
This month, I received Scent Box’s “Scent of the Month.”
The information card usually has a little information about the men’s scent of the month on one side and the women’s on the other side.
In case I have not mentioned it in the past, you get a new holder every month and the fragrance is printed on a sticker on the bottom, and the holders tend to be different colors each month, so you can still keep them sorted out.
On to the fragrance:

Oui by Juicy Couture - Estimated Value $17.33 (Buy 30 mL for $65)
I really couldn't predict what I would think of this one in advance. It was new to me and I usually like Juicy Couture fragrances, despite not being a fruity/floral fan to begin with. (Also FYI this was launched in 2018 and is still being sold at regular retailers like Ulta and Sephora so it's not a closeout.)
Top notes include watermelon, acai, tea, and pear. Mid notes include jasmine, tuberose, and honeysuckle. Base notes include woodsy notes, amber, and musk. Please note that your body chemistry may be different and this fragrance may have a somewhat different scent on you than it did on me.
This had a rather generic opening where the base notes dominated. But, after a few minutes, I could detect a slight fruitiness, mostly from the pear. I really didn't get watermelon or honeysuckle from this at all, which is kind of too bad because I think I might've enjoyed those. I really like the scent of actual honeysuckle flowers when I walk by them and I kind of enjoy concentrated watermelon scents on their own as well. This was a little floral but not overwhelmingly so.
After maybe an hour or so this faded a little but not completely, and it matured into a slight pear over a musky, amber-y sort of base with a hint of wood, which ended up working out OK for me although maybe it was not my favorite thing ever.
Verdict: The estimated value of my fragrance this month is $17.33. That's a bit over the month-to-month cost of the box and of course you also get free holders every month as well as free exchanges, which can increase the value a bit. Although the fragrance wasn't my favorite, it was all right, and is probably something I will reach for when I am in the right mood. At any rate, no one is ever going to like every scent of the month and it is interesting to receive something that is OK but not fantastic as I usually have much stronger reactions to fragrances.
