Beachly Fall 2020 Review
When you first sign up for Beachly, you'll fill out a few preferences to tailor your box to you. They also take your location into account, so you don't have to worry about getting a tank top in the middle of winter in the midwest.
Your sizes and preferences will be saved to your account for future inquiry needs.
There was also a cute booklet with all the items inside and extra details. Let's peek inside!
The Gold Coast Weekender by The Beach People Australia - Listed Value $120.00
This is a really large weekender bag in a charming blue shade. The handles are a brown pleather material and it also features an interior zipper pocket to keep smaller goods safe. The canvas material is a nice medium weight that will stand up to rough travel int be back of my car and the bottom of the bag is padded for extra protection and shape. I liked that the logo was embroidered instead of screen printed and that the handles are extra long, meaning it isn't uncomfortable to sling this over a shoulder. I like to have bags like this around because I use them all the time! I have a few prepacked for different activities, like yoga, outside painting or sketching, and fishing.
A photo with deer isn't very beachy, but here we are!
The Tropical Vibes Sweater by Goldfish Kiss - Listed Value $69.00
Though my 2020 has been anything but tropical, I like this sweater. I really REALLY appreciate the neutral color choice. It just works for my style a lot more then coral or ocean blues would have. The sweater itself is very lightweight and the knit is loose, meaning you can wear it on those weird fall days that start cold and warm up, or layer it for chilly days. Though it is 100% acrylic yarn, it feels pretty soft and wasn't itchy to wear at all. I enjoyed the oversized slouchy shape too.
Here it is with a little bit of a tuck.
But here is a better picture of the length. It's pretty normal, and not at all cropped.
Seafolly Packable Hat - Listed Value $38.00
I liked this hat very much! It actually fits my head! Though the inside diameter is around 22 inches (my head is 23), it had some stretch which made it fit really nicely. Again, very happy with the subdued color of the tassels. It makes this hat wearable year-round. It is a 'packable' sort of hat, though it needs to be reshaped after being folded up. A few wears return it back to its proper shape.
Totally my new fave fishing hat.
Sunrise Shack Hawaii Tumbler - Listed Value $18.00
Though I am not a coffee drinker, I am rarely found without tea in hand. I think this tumbler is quite cute, and it holds a lot of tea! The cup is made of bamboo fiber and the holder and lid are a flexible black silicone.
Lola Pilar Hawaii Island Paradise Postcards - Buy 6 for $19.00
These postcards are pretty enough to be framed as a little grid of art prints. I love the botanical imagery and the symmetry of these designs. The placement of each design is inspired by antique quilts and each piece is locally sourced from Hawaii before being lovingly placed and photographed.
Each flower-quilt design involves sourcing fruit and flowers from aunties' backyards, in addition to lei and fruit stands throughout Hawai'i. Some works of nature are deserving enough to knock on doors! The meticulous manicuring and careful placement of flowers can take hours before photographing each final image. Her hope is to bring a smile to your face and Hawai'i's nature and beauty into your home. Most importantly, her pieces are all a work of love.
Vagabond Goods Luggage Tag - Listed Value $12.00
Our final item is a very cute little luggage tag with blue linework in Hawaiian botanicals. Sure, I won't need a luggage tag anytime soon (boooo!) but this is something I will keep on hand for hopes for next year.
Verdict: This Beachly box did a really great job of taking the beach but making it fall. A cute sweater, cup for your fave tea or coffee, and sun-blocking hat together are a pretty perfect fall trifecta. Though I won't be seeing the ocean anytime soon, I will be road-tripping back down to Tennessee to see my fam at the end of October, and I already plan on taking my new blue weekender to carry some of the many items I will be hauling home. The art postcards were really beautiful too, and though I won't be using them as postcards, I think I will frame them up for the guestroom and display them all together. This is a pricier box for sure, but the items inside always feel really fun and the quality is good. If you missed your tropical vacay this year, this is a much less expensive option that will deliver some ocean vibes right to your door.
To Wrap Up:
Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Yes, but these sell out quickly!
Value Breakdown: At $103.95 ($99.00 + $4.95 shipping) for this box, each of the 6 items has an average cost of $17.33.
