Quirky Crate September 2020 Review
Quirky Crate samples one item from a featured artist or brand each month. This month features the art and printmaking company, Smarty Pants Paper Co. This info card gives you some insight into the company as well as some social media info.
On the flipside, Quirky Crate includes an itemized list of each product and its value. This month's theme is "Trick or Treat Your Quirky Self"!
Time to get quirky!
Chattering Teeth Socks - Listed Value $9
Quirky Crate‘s socks are so charming! I look forward to seeing what they come up with each month, and this may be my favorite, yet! These chompers are wacky and funny, and totally unique. They are perfect for a fun Halloween look and will fit perfectly under my favorite pair of boots.
Smarty Pants Paper Co Sticker - Retail Value $2.25
This skull manages to be spooky yet endearing at the same time. This 2" x 3" sticker is printed on white vinyl, is weatherproof and waterproof. I haven't decided on what I'd like him to grace yet, but his glowing red eyes and friendly smile will cheer up any dull surface.
Exclusive Magic Book Purse - Listed Value $36
Here it is - the best purse Quirky Crate has ever sent! I love the structure of this purse; everything from the gold magnetic snaps to the graphic is a step up. This bag is also roomier than previous bags since it is not in a funky shape; it is also the perfect size and shape to carry as a clutch or use as a travel makeup bag. I can't wait to bust this bag out this Spooky Season!
Alien Pen - Listed Value $5
I have a love/hate relationship with aliens. I love the idea of another life form out there, but I hate all of the alien propaganda I've seen in horror movies (scary!). I have to say this pen is quite top-heavy and uncomfortable to write with, but I am making a permanent space for him in my pencil cup, just so I can see him on the daily. Even though he scares me a little bit, I still enjoy his presence. He is your everyday ballpoint with a fine tip, although I found it hard to write very neatly since the weight of the pen made it feel unbalanced in my hand.
Ring Pop Enamel Pin - Listed Value $10
I can almost taste that juicy, jewel flavor just looking at this sparkling pin. If you didn't know, a Ring Pop is a lollipop without a stick, a ring of flavor you can lick (I hope you are singing the jingle along with me!). This pin is huge! It is definitely a nostalgic treat (the best kind!), which takes me back to days in elementary school and being proposed to, just like in the commercial. Another fun, unique find from Quirky Crate.
Spooky Cat Hat - Listed Value $16
Comfortable, warm, and cute, this kitty hat will be a cutesy accessory to wear this Halloween season. Maybe I am a little old for hats with ears (nonsense!), but it doesn't stop me from wearing my lime green Shrek hat while shoveling, and it certainly won't stop me from wearing this while taking a brisk jaunt around the block. You do you! I like the tight fit, and the ears are irresistibly cute.
Scary Eye Bracelet - Listed Value $14
I like everything about this bracelet. Of course, out of context, it is a weird accessory, but when Halloween is approaching, I like to have fun with my accessories, especially at work. The length fits my wrist perfectly, but I could imagine a lot of people would require an extender to wear this comfortably. The brassy metal and blue eyeballs really compliment each other, but I would have liked to see some green and brown eyes, too!
I clasped this bracelet on one of the loosest settings, and it fits with some extra room to move around.
The Verdict: September's Quirky Crate was one of my favorite curations. Receiving a Halloween box in September is an amazing idea; I love to prolong the spooky season, plus I will get to enjoy my festive accessories all month long. The trinkets you'll find in Quirky Crate make fantastic and unique gifts, and they are also so much fun to accessorize with. The total value of this box adds up to $92.50, over double the $36.95 + $8.50 shipping subscription cost. Out of all of my many subscriptions, I have the most fun unboxing QC, making it worth every penny each month.
