BarkBox is a reader-favorite monthly subscription box for dogs.
BarkBox customizes your box to your dog’s size. For reference, this review is for the medium size, which is recommended for dogs 20-50 lbs. We recently changed the size because Tucker, our Standard Poodle, is the most playful pup in the house when it comes to toys.
FYI: Two of my dogs are quite old! Piper (the minpin) has to eat soft food and has trouble with hard treats. Charlie is a pug and a glutton who will eat LITERALLY anything. They both still really enjoy toys, though it has been years since either of them managed to destroy anything.
If you have a younger pup or just one who needs toys of the rough and tumble variety, I highly recommend trying the Super Chewer subscription (read our reviews to learn more!).
My Subscription Addiction pays for this subscription. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

September 2020 BarkBox "An Autumn Tail" Review
The details behind our items this month were printed inside, on the box lining.
The September box included 2 toys, 2 bags of treats, and a chew - this is close to what you can expect with your monthly subscription, though it does vary for everyone once in a while.
A lot of these items are marked as 'Sold Out' on the BarkBox app - but they have a little 'As Seen In BarkBox' section of the BarkShop where you can grab items featured in monthly themes.
Pork n' Spice Latte Treats, 4.5 oz - Retail Value $5.00
Duck treats do well in our house. I mean, all treats do. But duck seems to be extra beloved! These rectangular pieces aren't hard, but I could see some dogs having trouble with them if they have sensitive or missing teeth. I ripped them into smaller portions for Piper for this reason. Otherwise, these were a big hit!
While Charlie would probably eat rocks, he did seem to be quite taken by these yummy treats.
Duckboots Treats, 4.5 oz - Retail Value $5.00
These treats were almost identical to the first bag in shape and duckiness. If my pups didn't love them so much I would have been bummed to see less variety, but honestly, the dogs don't care at all.
Forever thankful that Tucker is a very gentle treat-taker.
The Deer Hunter Toy - Retail Value $10.00
This little deer hunter has it all! TWO different squeakers, fur, crinkle, and soft legs. Charlie wanted this the second I took it out of the box.
This toy immediately captivated Charlie's attention.
Though Piper was intrigued as well!
His favorite part was totally the legs.
I think Charlie liked this toy because he is actually really good friends with the deer who live in our backyard.
Mutt Bunch Hard Cider Toy - Retail Value $10.00
Will and I just finished a batch of hard cider, and while Tucker can't enjoy that, he sure can enjoy this squeaky and crinkly stuffed cider! I thought the furry "fizz" was a cute and creative addition.
Haha, Mutt Bunch!
Charlie was also up for some libations.
Tucker enjoyed "spilling" this drink for over an hour.
Salmon Stick Chew
As usual, I reserved this chew for Tucker since he is the only one with a full set of teeth at this point. We had a nice quiet evening together in my studio while the other two were snoozing and he happily made quick work out of this chew from his dog bed.
Verdict: What a cute fall BarkBox. It had everything from pumpkin spice treats, to red flannel, and even hard cider! The dogs enjoyed this so much! They have gotten to know when I bring a Barkbox home and get very excited. I love seeing Piper morph into a puppy again at the sight of these creative toys. The old girl still has some fun left! Tucker and Charlie are absolute gluttons who enjoy the treats more than the toys, but that's fine by me.
