Enchanted Crystal of the Month Review
First, you'll see a greeting from Adam of Enchanted Crystal. I love these personal notes as they explain behind the scenes details. Sounds like Adam has had a very nice summer. I am a little jealous!
Our specimen this month is Apatite!
Apatite
FYI: This piece is small and measures less than an inch tall.
So this specimen is definitely on the smaller end of any I have received from this subscription. I wish it was about twice as tall because it's actually a very cool little piece. Apatite is a mineral that naturally occurs within bones and teeth in humans as well as animals. It is unusual because it can be produced by living creatures! This little piece is a very pretty olive-yellow color and has these little flecks inside that catch the light beautifully.
Enchanted Crystal always sends bonus crystals or minerals in a small bag as well.
Good to Know: These are all less than an inch long.
Amethyst
I feel like I haven't seen any amethyst in this sub in the last few months, so these little nuggets were a pretty sight indeed. Amethyst is one of those stones that people adore for the color and the beautiful lines inside that make each totally unique.
White Howlite
Howlite is a stone people love to hate because it is often dyed and passed off as turquoise. I kind of like it, though, because white howlite reminds me of marble and I find the beautiful charcoal lines remind me of natural little pencil sketches within each stone.
Brecciated Jasper
This type of jasper is my favorite type (Red Jasper) with the addition of interesting brown and grey veining and pattern. Each piece of jasper always feels like it was hand-painted, which is one of the reasons these are my favorite stones.
Verdict: This month's Enchanted Crystal selection was a wee bit smaller than I would prefer, but still endlessly interesting. I don't have any apatite in my collection (at least I don't think I do...) so it was a welcome addition. I found the bonus minerals especially charming this month because each was a little work of art and the shiny tumbled surfaces just feel really great in my hands.
