CultureFly My Hero Academia Subscription Box Summer 2020 Review
Each box comes with a card showing each of the items in the box. I was really excited about this box because I just recently started watching My Hero Academia (MHA) and I am kind of really into it. It is silly and fun and feels kind of like an anime version of X-Men. The hero is a boy named Midoriya who was born without a 'Quirk' (AKA a superpower). It has always been his dream to be the biggest hero, and a fateful meeting with Japan's biggest celebrity superhero, All Might, sets him on a course to realize his dream.
All Might Door Sign with Marker
Most of you know that the majority of the boxes I review are beauty-related, so boxes like this feel like a fun break from that skincare sort of action. And I can always count on super creative things arriving! Just look at this door sign! It is decked out in All Might blue and red and features his incredibly distinctive hairstyle. It arrived with a marker to jot down notes or your fave MHA quotes.
Spinning Keychain
I quite like this little spinning keychain! It features All Might and Deku and is really fun to fidget with on my keys. Without giving anything away from the series, I think this design is really cool knowing what both of these heroes share in common as the story progresses.
Cooler Lunch Tote
This little cooler is SO cute! And it would be the perfect size for lunch if I ever left the house these days. With a road trip coming up for myself and Will in a few days, it is still a great size to stash four water bottles or a few Red Bulls! The yellow fabric features Deku and All Might in a pattern.
All Might Tote
Although I do adore All Might, the yellow lining of this bag – featuring chibi versions of all of the heroes from the show – is so cute I flipped it inside out! It works just as well this way and the inner pocket is still totally functional. Whichever way you choose to use this tote, it is a really great and totally colorful design with all of our fave characters (I see you Todoroki!). This is a nice medium-sized tote that fits tons of books or art supplies.
Glow-in-the-Dark Raglan T-Shirt
This black and teal raglan features Deku powering up! Our favorite underdog hero even glows in the dark!
All Might Vinyl Figure
It took me a few episodes to totally convert to an All Might stan, but I really love the guy now. He is so bold and gregarious but also hides a secret about his true strength. His heroic and generous personality makes him a hero worth aspiring to. I really like the heroic stance of this figure and especially his detailed cape! He easily sets into a round circular base to overlook my office from a shelf.
Acrylic Tumbler
I am always a fan of a functional piece of fandom and this delivery delivers again with this tumbler. Again, it features All Might and Deku and a fun SMASH!! action text. It arrived with a blue lid and yellow reusable straw.
All Might Flag
My last item is listed as a "tapestry" on the info card but the material feels a lot like a thin flag. It features All Might in all of his heroic glory and has two metal rings across the top for hanging.
Verdict: I really enjoy MHA and this box is such a good time. Sure, it is over the top. But so is this anime, so that makes it extra fun. I liked the All Might + Deku theme this month since their relationship is such a massive part of this storyline. But I was also happy the other heroes showed up on the items inside this month, if only on a smaller scale. This subscription is perfect for My Hero Academia fans of all ages and would make such a fun gift!
