Stitch Fix Kids October 2020 Review

In our Stitch Fix Kids delivery, we received this cute sticker sheet along with an envelope with a prepaid shipping label for easy returns and exchanges.

This is the invoice that was sent in the Fix. It provides specifics on the brand, size, and price of each item. They also give instructions at the bottom for how to check out and either purchase or return your items in the pre-paid postmarked envelope they provide. The items for my daughter came to a total of $216, but with the 25% discount (which they take off BEFORE they deduct the $20) and the $20 credit, our total drops down to $142.00. That's a savings of $74.00 on this Fix!

This is the included style sheet, which features pictures of all the clothing and a note from her stylist. This month my baby girl turned six so I asked her stylist to send some fun, girly clothing in her favorite color, pink. While Liv's stylist was changed (her last one was great!), it seems like this new stylist, Amanda, definitely delivered on that request!

Trinney Brushed Ruffle Neck Jumpsuit by Chenault Girl, Size 7 - Cost to Keep $28.00

First, we have this adorable jumpsuit (Liv loves jumpsuits and rompers!) which features long sleeves making it seasonally appropriate for where we live. I thought it fit her really well, and we loved the florals and the fact that it has pockets. I also thought the ruffle detail at the neckline was so cute and it was soft and stretchy making it comfortable for her to wear. A great start!

Ann Graphic Brushed Fit and Flare Dress by RUMI+RYDER, Size S - Cost to Keep $28.00

This dress is Liv's absolute favorite item, even though it's not pink. She loves butterflies and has definitely been very into sequins lately so that combined with the super-soft material of the dress put a big smile on her face! I think this is a perfect little girl's dress and I love that it has long sleeves so she can pair it with leggings to wear throughout the winter, too.

Ari Hacci Graphic Hoodie by Nine One Eight, Size S - Cost to Keep $22.00

With Liv, you can't go wrong when it comes to butterflies and unicorns, so this hoodie, also super-soft, with a shimmering pink sequined unicorn was another easy winner. I love the mint green color and the sweater style with the cuffs at the sleeves and waist.

Shelby Fleece Lined Seamless Leggings by Capelli New York, Size  M- Cost to Keep $12.00

These are the fun unicorn leggings that she's wearing in the photo above. I feel like we have tried these before and while they are cute, they are super tight and skinny which is fine for her legs, but we always have trouble getting them to fit over her wide feet. It results in a lot of frustration when she puts them on!

The Wide Waist Fleece Lined Leggings by RUMI + RYDER, Size S - Cost to Keep $18.00

The second pair of leggings fit her much better and they are soooooo soft inside. She was in love from the moment she felt that thick fleece lining. Then when she saw that the knees had flip sequins, she went even crazier! Haha. It is such a fun detail and these leggings will definitely be warm enough to wear throughout the winter, too.

Miley Tie-Front Graphic Tee, Size S - Cost to Keep $14.00

This top is simple and cute. She loves the color and that it references mermaids while I think the tie waist is really cute. It's comfortable and stretchy and big enough that I think it would fit her into summer, too. The seashell detail is also fun with its iridescent colors!

Tee Feather Yarn Cardigan by Design History, Size S - Cost to Keep $26.00

How fun and adorable is this cardigan? It's big and cozy with soft feather yarn and it has pockets. I really loved this one and Liv liked it a lot, too, but I just don't know how much she would wear it. She's not quite as into cardigans as I am these days, but I really wish they had this one in my size!

Tammy 1/4 Zip Fuzzy Pullover by Love Glam Girl, Size S - Cost to Keep $26.00

This zip pullover is another cute and cozy choice. Liv has one similar that she got last year which actually still fits her and she also just received a similar one in another box, so we just couldn't justify keeping this one. She loved the color, the big hood, and the pocket on the front to keep her hands warm. I also thought it was really cute on her.

The Everyday High Waisted Legging by Bixby Nomad, Size S - Cost to Keep $14.00

These are the leggings she's wearing with the pullover in the above photos. We both loved the color and the cute flowers. These are very lightweight and stretchy and again, the material is soft, although very different from the fleece-lined leggings. These probably won't be as comfortable during the colder days, but I think the colors will make them a great transition piece for spring... as long as they still fit her!

Adora Sneaker by Blowfish Malibu Kids, Size 2Y - Cost to Keep $28.00

The last item Liv received are these cute sneakers. I really thought she would like them more than she did, considering they're pink and covered in pretty flowers. I don't think she liked the rough edges of these, though - she's not very into the distressed look, I guess! While I thought these were cute, I wasn't that thrilled with this style for this time of year since these are very much a spring/summer shoe to me. With the way her feet grow, I don't like to buy shoes for the next season since there's a good chance they won't fit her by the time she goes to wear them.

Here's a look at them on her feet. The fit was pretty good!

The Verdict:  This month's shipment from Stitch Fix Kids felt like it was absolutely made for my daughter! I was thoroughly impressed with what her stylist sent considering she is a completely new stylist for us. She definitely nailed Liv's style and sent items that were seasonally appropriate (although maybe not the sneakers?), plus I thought it was a good mix of items price-wise. Liv was really happy with everything and I think it provided a great range of items to pick from to make her feel special on her birthday. As always, we love the convenience of this service and had fun trying everything on at home!

Value Breakdown: This styling service costs $20 with free shipping and returns. The total retail value of the items inside is $216.00. The invoice lists the cost of each item next to it, but if I keep all of the items, then I get a 25% discount. The $20 styling fee for the Fix is applied to the purchase no matter how many items you keep, and in this case, it would bring the total down to $142.00. That’s a discount of around 34% for these items!

I am a homeschooling mom to 4 kids; 1 girl and 3 boys. While I have been reviewing boxes since 2018 and I love the luxury of trying new products, I'm also balancing it out by dabbling in a little bit of homesteading, too. We now have 4 chickens and a rabbit and my sourdough starter is going strong! I love learning about new brands and sharing the great things I find with others in hopes that they find something new to love or to fit their needs!

Super cute items as usual. I love the items that are picked for your daughter. If I had a young daughter I would definitely sign her up. Happy Birthday to Liv! Hope she had a great birthday!

That romper is super cute on her! However, as my mom, my first thought is that it might pose issues for younger kids who need to make a quick trip to the restroom. Does it just slip on and off or are there buttons or a zipper?

It just slips on and off so it’s pretty easy for her! Since we are mostly at home, rompers aren’t usually an issue for us – usually I’d be worried about them dropping down to a public restroom floor though. 😝
