Uncorked Box’s founder Amanda, took her love of subscription boxes and wine-related items and formed a quarterly subscription box where she shares her fun and unique wine finds with her subscribers.

A lot of care went into the packaging of this box, and that made opening it feel more special.

This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

Uncorked Box "Will Trade Candy for Wine" Fall 2020 Review

Pick Your Poison Sign - Retail Value $5.95

This little sign would be so adorable hanging from a bar cart or wine cabinet, but since I have neither of those things this has found it’s home on my pantry door. It’s nothing fancy, but it makes me smile when I see it and that is exactly the kind of decoration I prefer.

Give Me All The Boos Cotton Dish Towel - Retail Value $13.95

As soon as I opened the box this dishtowel replaced the one hanging on my oven, and the cheerful orange color in this 20x28 towel adds a touch of spooky fun to my small kitchen. It also performed well as an emergency oven mitt in a pinch, where I had to get something out of the oven and this was what was closest in reach.

Vodka Is My Candy Tote Bag

This is a high-quality tote bag – it could easily carry a bottle of wine or a big haul of Halloween candy, and the candy corn inspired ombré candy is cute while still being trendy. I like that the words are in metallic gold – it elevates this tote bag to be a bit more unique and fun.

Tony Moly I’m Red Wine Sheet Mask - Retail Value $3.75

This is a familiar mask to me – I think at this point I’ve tried every variant of the I’m Real sheet masks by Tony Moly. This mask features red wine extract as a source of antioxidants, along with panthenol and green tea extract. This mask won’t give you any skincare miracles, but it will give you some peace and relaxation while you wear this sipping a glass of vino.

Hey Boo Cocktail Napkins

These spunky cocktail napkins are perfect for a Halloween gathering, or just to add some sass to your dining table. The hot pink color would also be right at home at a happy hour or brunch, and they’re cute enough that you can keep using them after October 31st.

Skull Shaped Sipper

I drink almost exclusively out of Starbucks tumblers, so this is actually right up my alley. I can’t help it that I’m more likely to drink water if it’s through a straw, and this cup can’t help being festive, fun, and pretty. It’s hand wash only so it is undetermined how long this will last for a heathen like me, but if you’re out walking around the neighborhood no one will know if this is water or wine inside, which is something I always appreciate.

“Candy Is Dandy But Wine Is Divine” Wine Bottle Sock - Retail Value $7.95

I’m not going to any Halloween parties this year, but I know someone who is and who never shows up without a bottle of wine for the host. I passed this cute wine sock over to her to add extra spooky joy, and the general consensus is that it is charming and adorable.

Verdict: It may feel like I said the word “fun” a lot, but this really was a fun box. I enjoyed that it helped add Halloween spirit, and the products were of good quality while still being a bit more unique than standard party supplies. In terms of value, I think a lot will depend on what you’re looking for – if you go to social events or entertain often, this box gives you some fun items to add to your plans. If your social life is a bit more low key, this probably isn’t the box for you. I personally really enjoyed it, and I appreciate how everything in the box has already found a home and purpose.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Yes, this box is still available

Value Breakdown: This box costs $50 + free US shipping, which means that each of the 7 items in the box has an average cost of $7.14.

I am a staunch believer that pineapple doesn’t belong on pizza and when I’m not working as a family law attorney I enjoy hiking the Louisiana trails (alligator sightings are a favorite!) or relaxing with Duchess, my cat. I’m a sucker for anything labeled a mystery box and I’ve never met a bath bomb I didn’t like.

I though this was an amazingly well curated and fun box. The presentation was amazing as well. I think taking all that into consideration $50 is fair….however.perhaps a hero item I would suggest to the company if people (majority) think more value is needed.

This box was so fun! I enjoyed opening it since it was a Halloween theme and it’s my favorite holiday. It was wrapped in spider webs with cute spiders in it! The box never expressed to be a value saving box just a fun gift box which I greatly enjoyed!!!
The quality of everything is also awesome!

Definitely not worth $50! This is dollar store stuff.

Uncorked Box

Hi Valerie,
Sorry you feel the way you do. We actually take the time to source great quality merchandise. It’s all about quality not quantity in our opinion. I can assure you that nothing is from the dollar store. If you received a box and feel that way please send me an email.
Cheers

While it may be carefully curated, the value is simply not there. A great number of people buying subscription boxes these days look for exceptional value and unique items. This does not, in my opinion of course, meet those high standards.

Victoria

Your box is thoughtfully curated and very nicely presented In my opinion. I really liked the choices. There is a lot of potential there so I would suggest taking all the feedback into consideration and perhaps add another items. A Hero item or two. It really Isam nice Halloween based box.

Mel

Holy overpriced, Batman! $50 for that? Heck no! Most of that stuff looks like it’s from the cheap bins as soon as you enter Target. Hard pass.

Uncorked Box

Hi Mel!
As hard as your comment is to read as the owner of the company I can assure you as a daily Target shopper none of these items are from the bins. All of our products are sourced from highly reputable companies that you can find at a Nordstrom or even a Neiman Marcus. It’s all about quality not quantity in our opinion and we would never ship something cheap. We value our loved subscribers and do best by them every quarter.

Agree with everyone else, this would have to include a nice bottle of wine to justify that price tag!

Carol

I still thought that the these were pretty cute items and the presentation of the box was nice…then I saw the price. Scary!

Reply ButtonReply

Hanna

Ouch! I would pay MAYBE $15. Even that is a stretch.

Reply ButtonReply

Beth

Yikes. That’s a 20 dollar box, nowhere near worth the listed price. The day after Halloween it’s a 4 dollar box at most.

Cassie

Yikes! This is cute, but nowhere worth the cost. Equivalents of the towel, sign, cup, and napkins can easily be purchased at the dollar tree (got the cutest signs there this year!)

Think if they added on bottle of wine this would be perfect

The skull tumbler is adorable! Hand washing would be a deal breaker for me on anything more than $5 as I’m bound to get lazy or just forget and top rack dishwasher it. That aside, I too am having trouble seeing the value in the box from a cost perspective.

No wine?!?! Pretty expensive for this set of items. I saw the same bottle at DT. I guess with the name of the subscription and price of this subscription I was expecting more. I will stick with Vine-Oh.

Stephanie

This is $50? For this amount I’d expect a nice bottle of wine. Sorry but this is no where near justifiable for this amount. These are all 3 dollar items from Ross, Marshall’s, Tuesday Morning or Michaels.
