The Box By Fashionsta for Men is a monthly men's box brought to you by online beauty store, Fashionsta, for $29.99/month with free shipping. Each box will include 5-7 full-size skincare and other self-care products for men with an $80-$150 value. Fashionsta also offers The Box For Women ($24.99/month) as well as a mystery box that costs $40 as an add-on with a subscription or $50 as a one-time purchase.

My Subscription Addiction paid for this subscription. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

The Box By Fashionsta for Men November 2020 Review

The Box By Fashionsta for Men comes with a simple info card that provides a short description and value for each product included in this month's box.

Manscaped The Lawn Mower 2.0 - Listed Value $60 (on sale here for $49.99 - see notes below)

The Lawn Mower 2.0 is a skin-safe electric groin and body trimmer. It is waterproof for use in the shower and has a built-in rechargeable battery. It comes with two double-sided guide combs, a small brush, and, of course, a recharging cord. I am really impressed by this trimmer, but I am particularly taken with how easy it is to change out the blade. It simply pops out and the new blade snaps right back in. Customers can sign up for a blade replacement program and receive a new one every 1, 2, 3, or 6 months. I have never had a trimmer and wouldn't have imagined using one in the shower, but perhaps I'm behind the times. I did take this into the shower just to see if it would work and was impressed.

As for purchasing this razor. It seems Manscaped.com has moved on to the Lawn Mower 3.0, which is more expensive at $79.99. So if you want the 2.0 razor specifically, you will have to search for it. While doing so, I found that Target is selling a kit that includes the 2.0 razor AND preserver (see below) for $49.99. That would be a savings of $21. I can't speak to the difference between the 2.0 and the 3.0, but my first instinct would be to get the older model for less.

Manscaped Crop Preserver (3 oz.) - Retail Value $11

This product name certainly doesn't mince words. Made by the same company as the trimmer, this is a moisturizing anti-chafing ball deodorant that keeps your "goodies" fresh and hydrated. It is for after-shower use and meant to keep you dry and comfortable with all-day protection. Again, I had no idea about products like this, but I guess I was naive. Of course there are personal care items specifically for men's privates. I will say it smells nice, like cologne but not too potent. I feel like "moisturizing" and "keep you dry" are contradictory, but maybe that's me. I like this product, but am curious what sets it apart from a regular moisturizer.

Jaxon Lane Rain or Shine Moisturizing Sunscreen - Retail Value $32

My first impression of this was that it's the wrong season for sunscreen. However, as the packaging points out, just because it's cold out doesn't mean your skin is not affected by the sun. This sunscreen is SPF 50, moisturizing, and non-greasy – and it smells nice to boot. Not like your typical sunscreen scent. While it could obviously be used for the typical swimming situations, this is geared more toward daily use for skincare and everyday sun protection. Besides, at $32, you don't want to see your buddy wringing out this bottle to lather up at the pool. The directions instruct to "apply liberally," but I'm going to be a little cautious.

Anthony Mint + White Tea Lip Balm SPF 25  - Retail Value $9

You can never have too much lip balm. Best to just have some lying around everywhere, especially in the winter. This mint and white tea lip balm has a great flavor and protection in the form of SPF 25 as well. I'm personally not picky when it comes to lip balm, but I could see how this is a step above your average balm. Sort of like the sunscreen, it adds extra protection to your lips when you're out and about.

Dosely For Him - Retail Value $20

This package contains 28 vitamin capsules to be taken daily. They are plant-based, vegan, non-GMO, and hypoallergenic. They contain no colorants, binders, or synthetic filler. I've been taking these for a couple of days now, but don't have much to report yet. The packaging is cute, but I prefer a bottle. If you are forgetful when it comes to taking your vitamins, having the daily reminders may help you remember and ensure you only take one capsule a day. Overall, it's nice.

Hommeface Revitalizing Hydrogel Face Mask - Approximate Retail Value $2.40

I have done more face masks the past couple of months for MSA than I have in my entire life beforehand. Typically, I am not really a face mask kind of guy. I currently have this mask on while I'm watching the Steelers game. I didn't put it on very well, but it still feels great. Hydrating and cool. My wife pointed out that it must be geared toward men because it just covers around your eyes and upper cheeks. So if you have a beard, you can still use this. If you'd like to purchase some, Hommeface sells a set of five for $22. I just finished with the mask and my face feels smooth, soft, and not at all greasy.

Verdict: Once again, The Box By Fashionsta for Men produces a great box full of value and items you will actually use. If you've read my reviews, you know I'm not a big personal care kind of guy, but I can tell you every one of these items will get used immediately. I've wanted a trimmer for a while now. So I'll be picking that as my favorite item, although the sunblock/moisturizer was very impressive (but a little pricy if purchased outside of the box). The "crop preserver" and lip balm were great, and I'm glad the mask and vitamins were included even if they didn't blow me away. Overall, a great box – especially for the price. The listed value of this box clocks in at $131, which is tremendous for a $30 box. The razor alone is worth more than the cost of the box. (Remember, if you buy the razor kit, you'd save $21.)

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Your box will ship within 1-3 weeks from the payment processing date, so you'll likely start with next month's box. It's best to reach out to customer service and ask.

Value Breakdown: At $29.99 for the box, here’s what you are paying per item:

  • Razor ($60): $13.80
  • Crop Preserver ($10): $2.30
  • Sunscreen ($32): $7.36
  • Lip Balm ($9): $2.07
  • Vitamins ($20): $4.60
  • Mask ($2.40): $0.55

This would be a great box to receive all year then divide up for my two young adult sons. The value is there plus the items are useful. Great review Carlos!!

This sub is growing on me fast. It’s like the GQ Box, which I really like, but instead of quarterly it’s monthly. Not too expensive and, so far, it has been great. To be honest, I bet you’ll have trouble dividing it up. They may fight over some things. Thanks for commenting.

What an interesting box. I could never imagine my husband using anything inside….in fact, he would be mortified and probably embarrassed. This is not to say other men wouldn’t like it, but a lot of men (mine) just like to just be manly and super low maintenance, you know?

If I can be frank, if I came home and saw my husband wearing a sheet mask, I’d probably run 😂

I like your reviews Carlos. It’s nice hearing directly from a man in these types of reviews.

Yeah. I got a look from my wife when she found me with a mask on, but then she got excited and went to get a mask of her own. This kind of stuff is all new to me, but I’m enjoying it to be honest. Thanks for commenting.

It’s too bad this box wouldn’t still be available, but looks like a great sub for men. I’ll keep an eye on this one.

It’s quickly becoming a favorite of mine. It’s like the GQ Best Stuff box, but monthly. This is only my second month, but I would recommend it to anyone. Thanks for commenting.

I got my boyfriend into face masks (he likes the Glam Glow Charcoal mask because “you can feel it working”) and he’ll probably use it during tonight’s game lol.

Great review!

This one was one of my favorite masks I’ve done for MSA. It actually felt moisturizing, where others I’ve done just feel like wet paper. Thanks for commenting. Go Stillers.
