GlossyBox Limited Edition Holiday 2020 Review
This limited edition GlossyBox includes a pretty booklet that explains the eight products included and how to use them.
MZ Skin Hydra-Lift Golden Facial Treatment Mask - Retail Value $30.00
I've used many masks over the years, but there are some masks that once you open them you just know it is going to be good. Plus, you can always feel the quality. This mask was one of those, it was thick almost like a rubber glove, and had a ton of serum on it. This mask is meant to help provide your skin with hydration while lifting areas prone to sagging, smoothing, and reducing the appearance of hyper-pigmentation. The site also says that it is clinically proven to improve the surface of your skin in one month. So like any skin product or mask, this is something that you need to use more than once to see results. As I said, this mask felt super thick and stuck to my face easily, there was some sliding, but once I laid down it rested easily in place. I left the mask on for 20 minutes before removing, patting the excess serum into my skin, and going to bed. When I removed the mask my skin was plump with a rosy glow to it, my skin honestly hasn't looked this fresh in months! When I got up the next morning my skin was still glowing and felt silky smooth. This was a big hit for my skin, I might need to buy more!
Authentic Beauty Concept Dry Shampoo Deluxe Mini, 2.1 oz. - Listed Value $10.00 (buy the full size here for $25.00)
I don't wash my hair every day so dry shampoo is always good to have on hand. This dry shampoo is light and works to texturize, protect your hair from heat, and refresh. Since it isn't heavy you can easily massage it into your roots, and it is great to use for styling. It is also free from microplastics, mineral oil, parabens, and silicons. A little of this went a long way for me, but it did a great job of adding body to my roots and taking away any greasy look.
BioSilk Silk Therapy Original, 2.26 oz. - Retail Value $15.95
I have long, thick, curly hair that tends to get pretty dry and frizzy. My husband has long, straight hair that also gets pretty dry and frizzy on the ends. We both tried this serum and absolutely loved it! It is light, silky, and had an amazing fresh scent. You can use this on wet, damp, or fully dry hair. Just add a few drops to your hand, rub to warm, and apply from root to end. A little went a long way for me! For my husband, it really helped to tame his dry ends leaving them shiny and smooth. For me, it helped to define my curls leaving them silky and shiny.
Lauren B. Beauty Bright Lights Nail Polish - Retail Value $14.00
This polish screams holiday fun to me! I love it so much! As a Mom of two, getting out for manicures is not an easy thing so I have been trying to keep up with my nails at home to make myself feel put together (I love having a manicure so much!). This polish went on easily and dried quickly. It looks great just over my nail as is, but I am really excited to use this as a top layer over a red or plum polish that I have. That is going to be perfect for the holidays and will add some cheer every time I look down at my nails. This was such a fun treat!
Christophe Robin Cleansing Volumizing Paste with Rassoul Clay and Rose Extracts, 40 ml - Listed Value $10.13 (Buy a full-size for $19.00)
I was not sure about this product when I first started researching it, I love a good sudsy shampoo, but I really enjoyed using it! This is a blend of Rassoul clay so it doesn't look very pretty when you put some in your hand. When I first put it on my hair it sort of felt like a thick paste just sitting there, but once I started massaging it quickly got soapy! You can either rinse once you have lathered or let it sit for 2 minutes before rinsing and adding conditioner. They recommend using this once or twice a week to add volume to fine hair and to protect color-treated hair. Not only does this work really well but it smells amazing! It has this rich floral scent without being overpowering. My husband has finer hair than I do so I had him use this as well to get a different perspective and he was obsessed with it! It really lifted his roots and provided his hair with a deep clean.
Intraceuticals Rejuvenate Daily Serum, 15 ml - Listed Value $74.50 (buy a full-size bottle for $149.00)
This serum is meant to be used in the am and pm after cleansing before you apply your moisturizer. It has anti-aging benefits that are meant to improve the texture of your skin while giving it a glow and rejuvenation. It is also a great way to add moisture to your skin and is supposed to show a visible lifting and toning over time. Some of the main ingredients include Hyaluronic Acid, Vitamin A, Vitamin C, and Vitamin E. I am a big fan of daily serums mainly because my skin is naturally very dry so I always need that extra boost of hydration along with my daily moisturizer. I noticed an instant glow after using this and a softness to my skin that made my makeup just glide on. My main issue with this was the smell. It had a really weird almost chemical-like scent to it that I could smell for a while on my skin. I am hoping it will grow on me as I continue to use it, but right now I am still not loving it. Other than that I have noticed a difference in my skin even after only using for a few days so far!
Chemist Confessions Travel Buddy - Retail Value $35.00
This kit is so cute! Inside the pretty carrier with a magnetic closure are a smoothing moisturizer, water gel, hydrating oil, and a balm that helps to fight dry patches. Chemist Confessions recommends using the water gel first followed by the moisturizer, oil, and finish with the balm by spot treating dry areas on your skin. I'm personally not traveling anywhere right now so this is just going to be for me to enjoy at home. However, I could see this being great to have for a weekend getaway, to use if you are staying at a significant other's house and don't want to lug products back and forth, or of course for traveling without having to risk your skincare bottles exploding in your toiletry bag. I think what I enjoyed the most about this kit is that it comes with an entire skincare routine all in one, it isn't just one-off products to try. So I was able to use a brand fully together to see how each product works well with the other. These products are seriously amazing! They have left my skin feeling hydrated, smooth, and gives me that healthy glow that I crave during the cold winter months when my skin is overly dry.
KAB Cosmetics Strawberry Daiquiri Lip Liner - Retail Value $12.00
Guys, I am here for all of the lip liners I have been receiving lately! If you follow my reviews then you know I have found a new love in lip liners, one that has my Mom very happy since she has been trying for years to get me to use a liner. I have fairly thin lips (mainly my upper lip) and I have a scar that sort of tilts one side of my lip in. So a lip liner can work wonders for my daily lipstick look (I still wear lipstick even when I don't go anywhere). This liner is a mid-tone pink with a hint of nude making it the perfect shade to pair with so many of my lip colors. In the first photo, I have just the liner on with a little balm over it and the second is my go-to lip color paired with the liner that honestly matched perfectly!
Verdict: This was my first GlossyBox and what a way to start with the Holiday Limited Edition box! Each of the products felt like a little gift for me, or they would each make great gifts or stocking stuffers if something doesn't work for you. I also genuinely appreciate how so many of this month's products focused on hydration. The nail polish and lip liner were the perfect little products that I know I will use a ton and they both got me excited for upcoming Holiday looks. My favorite product this month would be either the travel kit or the BioSilk. Everything was curated to perfection though so I can't really pick a favorite! The total value I estimated for their $30 box is a whopping $201.58 making this the perfect box to gift to yourself for a job well done this year or to send to someone you love who you might be missing this holiday season.
