Why hasn’t the Winter 2020 box been reviewed yet?

I received the bulletproof roller ball perfume. At first I really did not like it. After wearing it a few times, I am in love! Her perfume scents are very layered and do amazing things after they are worn for a bit. I am also pleased with the first spring spoiler! Let’s hope the rest of the box is great.

As a subscriber from the beginning, this box was such a huge let down.
I remember getting the beautiful kimono and mug that I hold makeup brushes.
One box, we got a well-made apron, there’s memories of the kissing bell, plastic-coated tote bags, the lovely sewn bag with a crystal that held bath salts…

This is just a bunch of the filler that came with the older boxes. The hero item, I suppose, is the soap dish holder and soap?

Come on and get it together, Margot Elena Subscription! This was the best one around. For anyone wanting to say, “Well cancel your subscription,” that’s exactly what I am going to do if the next box is like this.

At least this subscription didn’t ghost its loyal subscribers the way that Sunday Riley’s subscription box did. That was a great box and then they just disappeared without even an email.

I love this sub, I’m never disappointed!

I had really liked this in the past, but I really think that I am done for a while…

I don’t like how, if one is interested in purchasing this box, one has to commit to the next season’s box, without having any idea what is inside. A whole season is an incredibly long time to wait for a purchase to be fulfilled.

That being said, I just purchased the Spring 2021 box last night.

Even with the uncertainty, I personally feel that most/all items in these boxes are useful and beautiful. I still use the lavender eye pillow that came in the ME box a year+ ago. I’m quite certain that these boxes will always contain lotion/cream, which is a product that I use throughout the day, and will therefore always appreciate.

I’m personally hopeful that Spring 2021 also includes a lip balm – another product that I use constantly, and another item like the aforementioned eye pillow – a surprise game-changer; something I never would have even thought to purchase, but I now cannot live without 🙂

I feel like this would be one of the best subscription box out there if only they would add maybe one more item each quarter, I just feel like its missing something. Its a very popular sub so my opinion may not matter, but I don’t know.

I liked this box, but didn’t love it. I was hoping to get something really brand new from her stores: a reed diffuser, cbd oil, a lip balm in a tube from Love and Toast. As a long-time subscriber, I’ve already received the parfum crema in Linden and the orange/grapefruit hand lotion, as well. I would have liked a more wintery theme: I know we got gift tags but in general (besides the wine colored wrapping paper), it felt like summer or spring. I think I’ll skip the next box. Having said allllll that, I could never disparage this box because it’s value and presentation is amazing! I just think it’s time for me to take a break.

I think you are exactly right. What it is missing is a little bit of a theme (not all the items have to fit) but getting a beach perfume with a mermaid on the label for fall was disappointing. All the the products I got in the Fall and Winter boxes feel like spring and summer except the bulletproof roller ball…(unfortunately I couldn’t the tolerate fragrance but I wanted to like it so badly).

It’s off to have a box reveal days after the Margot Elena email box reveal and a week after I got my box. ^.^

I love this box though, though I would have loved a candle for the “Shine Bright” theme. 🙂 I may gift the Parfum Crema (love it, but it’s a repeat and I haven’t gone through my first batch) and the body lotion (I’m not into grapefruit as a scent, though maybe I could use it on my legs?)

The rollerball is great. I love most Tokyo Milk Dark perfumes, and “Everything and Nothing” is a nice fall/winter scent, as if traipsing through the forest to grandmother’s house carrying a box of candies oranges, and stopping to pick flowers along the way.

The gift yah kit us super cute, and my 4yr old can’t wait to use it with me. I kept the orange cord from the soap (now in the guest bathroom) to put in the kit as well. I’ll probably re-use the tin as a bookmark holder, and may keep the larger tags as bookmarks as well.

And the blush oil is cool! You pretty much need a brush to blend it out so it isn’t travel friendly, but it is hydrating which is something I never think of blush as being, and my dry cheeks love it.

I already received my box. It was really nice overall but I’m not a big fan of the crema- I never really know how to use it. Suggestions are welcomed!! I also received a perfume that I really enjoyed. The soap dish was lovely but a little summery for the theme. Always lovely and well received Christmas gifts.

I was not sure about this perfume until I tried It. I loved Being able to put the scent exactly where I want It and have control over how much to wear. The scent is long lasting but not overpowering. It is more of a scent for you to enjoy rather than the whole room. (Unless you want someone to get real close)

All I can say is try it. The worst that can happen is that a lovely friend or relative will be gifted the tin.

Ashleigh, thanks for asking since I thought it was just a body butter type product. This is what I found on their website.

Description
The Art of Perfume Delivery Reimagined. Eau de Parfum captured in an extra-rich crème base. A triple-scented perfume alternative, the Parfum Crema is a modern interpretation of parfum intended to be worn in place of traditional fragrance. Designed to capture fragrance & slowly release when applied, for long lasting perfume delivery

To Enjoy
With three times the fragrance of our Eau de Parfums, a dab (or two!) of Parfum Crema can be worn alone as perfume. Customize your fragrance level: One dollop will do – but two or three will delight. Simply layer for day to night. For an overall body experience, layer on our extra-moisturizing Cocoa Butter Handcreme.

A repeat item and a strong scent for sure. Use it like perfume.

Didn’t people already get their
boxes? This is crazy late for spoilers when the box has already sold put and gone out.
Liz come back!

It’s so funny because I used to spend so much time on this site reading reviews and deciding which boxes I might try. Now, I visit maybe once every one to two weeks. I thought maybe I was just over sub boxes, but I realized by your comment that it’s how much this site has changed. I actually got a pop up about a post to read. It feels so sales oriented rather than getting the scoop from a friend like Liz. I discovered my fav subs – Fortune Cookie Soap and AU Sugar Sugar from this site, and loved Boxy at one point. I tried so many based on MSA reviews/spoilers. Yet, I think my addition has been cured. Miss you Liz.

Mallory do you need us to send full spoilers I got this a week or two ago? No offense honestly but this site is so behind the 8 ball anymore. I posted the January Lookfantastic in the December spoilers, can’t believe you haven’t listed.

Mallory @ MSA

Hi Elaine! We’re so sorry to hear this. While Liz has moved on, I can assure you that our entire team loves subscription boxes and is incredibly passionate about sharing them with our audience. If there’s anything else we can do to help, please send us a message: [email protected]

Esther

My opinion only – but It feels like this site is just geared toward enticing people to sign up for boxes – it’s like one big sales site for every random subscription box. It used to be about the reviews and opinions and we felt like we knew the team behind it – now it’s about generating sales. I miss Liz, too. I probably should look for a smaller blog site to get the ‘feel’ that I loved about this one.

Mallory @ MSA

Hi Esther! Thank you for sharing your feedback. Although Liz has moved on, I can assure you that everyone on our team LOVES subscription boxes, and is extremely passionate about sharing them with our readers. We’re also adding new writers to our team, which will let us create even more reviews on boxes you’ll love!

Christy

I agree. I used to come here for spoilers, but now (usually) everything’s been spoiled for days by the time MSA posts spoilers. I visit the site way, way less often than I used to visit – I really only come for Megan’s reviews now.

Jennifer

Carlos’ reviews are pretty awesome! It also helps to have a guys perspective on subs I’ve considered or got before for my husband.

Pilar

Carlos is the only honest reviewer on this site.

Theresa

I agree. How many times have you read something along the lines of “Usually I am not a fan of _______ but this one was surprisingly great.” It’s like they can never really be negative, or rarely negative.

I think I’d appreciate a bit more honesty. Most boxes are not full of awesome and amazing things. Most boxes have one or two items that are really appealing and then the rest vary from “well, it came with it so I’ll try it” to “OMG this the the crappiest thing ever.” Let’s face it…the box has to make money so a portion of it will be misses that will wind up at a garage sale.

Melissa

This is more of a box reveal. I think the review will come later, once they’ve had a chance to try out the products.

FWIW, I just signed up for a new small business subscription box that I would not have heard of if not for this site. I looked them up on FB, and there was a post from the business about being very excited to be reviewed here and how she would implement the feedback from the comments.

So it IS advertising for subscription boxes, but I don’t think its a bad thing, since we are all here because we love subscription boxes. 😊

Thumy

I feel the same way. We don’t get reviews and opinions like we use to and it seems like less boxes too. I go to different sites now and they have more box reviews. I only go here because of reflex but there’s never anything new just a lot of fabfitfun and other probably sponsored boxes.

Laura

As always, this was a wonderful box. The gift tags are awesome and needed- I was out. I only wish it had a holiday smelling candle. But, that’s probably bc I’m a wee bit obsessive candle lover. 😬😊

Melissa

It also came with an assorted travel-sized perfume from Tokyo Milk Dark. I received Bulletproof.

Jennifer

Yep! I got the “Everything and Nothing,” rollerball, which I’m loving.
