Scent Box November 2020 Review
This month, I received Scent Box’s “Scent of the Month.”
The information card included within the box usually includes some information about the men’s scent of the month on one side and the women’s on the other side. However, this month I did not receive a card.
In case I have not mentioned it in the past, you receive a new atomizer every month. The fragrance is printed on a sticker on the bottom, and the atomizers tend to be different colors each month, so you can keep them sorted.

On to the fragrance:
Sweet Like Candy by Ariana Grande - Estimated Value $8.80 (buy 50 mL for $54)
We received a different Ariana Grande fragrance earlier this year, and this one is kind of similar but not exactly the same. This one was introduced in 2016 and is still in production.
Top notes include blackberry, pear, and bergamot. These are not overly strong on me, perhaps I can pick out the pear but this isn't a fruity fragrance in my opinion. Instead, it's almost overwhelmingly sugary for me – which is a good thing in my book as you'll learn below.
Mid notes include whipped cream, marshmallow, black currant, frangipani, honeysuckle, and jasmine. This isn't a strongly floral fragrance on me although I think a bit of the honeysuckle showed through. The whipped cream and marshmallow were pretty apparent, however.
Base notes include vanilla and cashmere wood and, of these, the vanilla was strongest.
So, at least with my body chemistry, this is a very dessert-like fragrance with strong vanilla and marshmallow scents. As it happens, I love vanilla base notes and sweet/sugary fragrances in general. I can't really say why that is, maybe I just want to eat cake and ice cream or something, but it means this scent worked well for me.
Longevity and sillage were about average; this did last through a workout (the mail came in the afternoon and I tried it right away). I did not find it too strong or overwhelming, but I thought it was at a level where I would feel comfortable wearing it to the office in non-COVID times without worrying about overwhelming my coworkers.
Verdict: The estimated value of my fragrance this month is $8.80. That's not a great value compared to the month-to-month cost of the subscription, but you do receive a free holder and free returns/exchanges if a scent doesn't work for you. Also, you can set up your own queue with more expensive fragrances you'd like to try, rather than receiving the Scent Of The Month if you want to maximize value. So there are some ways you can get more out of this subscription. As it happens, I like the fragrance I received and I know I will be reaching for this frequently (and if I decide I want to invest in the full-size bottle I can use some Ulta points, plus it's actually fairly affordable as fragrances go).
