Scent Box December 2020 Review
This month, I received Scent Box’s “Scent of the Month.”

The information card included within the box usually includes some information about the men’s scent of the month on one side and the women’s on the other side.
In case I have not mentioned it in the past, you receive a new atomizer every month. The fragrance is printed on a sticker on the bottom, and the atomizers tend to be different colors each month, so you can keep them sorted.
On to the fragrance:

DKNY Be Delicious - Estimated Value $14.93 (buy 30 mL for $56)
In the package, right after I opened the envelope, I got a strong whiff of apple and cucumber. As in, this would not be out of place in a Bath & Body Works apple and cucumber shower gel. I actually kind of liked that so I was excited to see what this would be like when I put it on.
First warning: do not get this on your clothes as it is difficult to get rid of! I guess I got some on my hoodie and I can still smell it when I put the hoodie on (over clothes of course, I don't wear the same shirt three days in a row!) a couple of days later. That is probably true of any perfume but may be more of an issue with winter layering.
Anyway, when I put this on, it did not smell like apple and cucumber to me but I did kind of like it. Top notes are cucumber, grapefruit, and magnolia. (I did not really notice the grapefruit, which I'm a bit sad about, as I do love grapefruit fragrances.) Middle notes are green apple, muguet (aka lily of the valley), tuberose, violet, and rose. Base notes are woodsy notes, sandalwood, and amber. I'm thinking the reason I was happy at the beginning was the sandalwood, which is one of my all-time favorite scents.
After a few hours, though, this was like a FLOWER EXPLOSION, at least in combination with my body chemistry. As I am not one to really wear floral fragrances, I liked it somewhat less as time went on. This one was a really interesting experience, however, what with the totally different scents in the package, initially on my wrists, and after a few hours (and, I suppose, several days later on my hoodie sleeves).
For what it's worth, this one is still in production and available for sale at regular price (the link above is to Ulta), it is not discontinued like some fragrances I have received from Scent Box in the past.
Verdict: The estimated value of my fragrance this month is $14.93. For this subscription, that is a pretty good value, as this one does tend to come in below value – but it just about broke even this month. Don't forget that you can maximize value by choosing your own fragrance, and of course, you get the free atomizer every month (some subscriptions don't send a new atomizer with every shipment) and you also get free exchanges/returns if you don't like the scent you've chosen.
