Gentleman's Box January 2021 “Gentlemen of the North Takeover" Review

This is our issue of the included Gentleman's Post, which is a booklet that describes the theme for the month and highlights the items included in our box. This month it looks like we have a brand takeover from the Canadian company Gentlemen of the North, a brand I am familiar with thanks to this subscription. This month's look contains five items that all coordinate in shades of blue and gray, which are great colors for a winter box. Let's check them out!

Gentlemen of the North Tie - Listed Value $29.00
This tie is a nice dark blue with white and lighter blue flowers that actually remind me of snowflakes. It has a subtle winter vibe, but with those florals, this tie feels like it could work year-round. My husband thought it was a fun and festive start to this box!

Gentlemen of the North Socks - Retail Value $15.00
These socks feature similar shades of blue as the tie, which again gives a nice wintry vibe. These are a blend of cotton, polyester, spandex, and nylon. My husband wears a lot of light blue for work so he was thrilled with these socks and says they might be one of his favorites that he's received from them.

Gentlemen of the North Cufflinks - Listed Value $29.00
My husband doesn't have many opportunities to wear cufflinks, but he really liked the look of these. These are made from 50% copper and the toggle back makes them easy to put on. These are really unique and kind of simple since they end up looking just like very classy buttons with a high-shine.

Gentlemen of the North Tie Clip - Listed Value $15.00
This is one item that my husband has accumulated quite a few of and this simple silver design seems to be a popular one for subscription boxes, but for good reason. The plain silver bar is sleek, classic, and looks great paired with our tie. This is made from 100% copper but coated in silver for that nice shiny finish.

Gentlemen of the North Pocket Square - Listed Value $19.00
The shade of blue of this pocket square kind of reminds me of a medical mask, but it does tie in nicely with the lighter colors in the tie and socks. It is made from 100% cotton and I think after ironing it would look nice and crisp, a perfect way to accent a blue or gray suit.
Verdict: This month's Gentlemen of the North takeover of Gentleman’s Box provided some great pieces to pair with blue or gray and my husband felt that they tied everything together exceptionally well. Overall this box had a great winter vibe, but each piece could easily be worn year-round. The cufflinks had to be the standout item this month with their unique and classy look, but everything else was pretty solid. The total retail value of the box according to the listed prices came to $107, which is pretty good for a $35 + free shipping box!
