Bliss "Eye Got This" Holographic Foil Eye Masks - Retail Value - $2.97
As I have entered my 30s, I have noticed that if I don't get a full 8 hours of sleep a night, it is inevitable that I will have puffy eyes and dark circles in the morning. I have tried multiple brands of eye masks, but none have been as flashy as these babies! Usually my kids cry when they see me wearing the gel-like versions of these things, but with the holographic stars, my youngest told me I looked like a rock star. Did they de-puff my under eyes? I'm not sure if it was the vegetable derived moisturizing combo in these eye masks or the double shot of espresso, but my eyes did seem to look a lot better after wearing these!
Flashy huh?
Vital Proteins Lavender Lemon Beauty Collagen - Estimated Value $1.41 (Buy a pack of 24 for $34.00)
I really want to get on the collagen train as I could use all the skin, hair, nail, and joint support a girl can get, but the ingredient "bovine hide collagen" just kind of grosses me out. I am not a vegetarian, and I eat all the meat, but this little powder packet just kind of scares me. To make, you add this packet to a glass of water and stir. The powder itself smells slightly of lemon with a hint of lavender, but I just couldn't stomach drinking the entire glass. Does anyone have any tricks to hide this in your drink?
TRESemme Pro Pure Shampoo 3 oz. - Estimated Value $1.12 (Buy a 16 oz. container for $5.98)
TRESemme Pro Pure Conditioner 3 oz. - Estimated Value $1.12 (Buy a 16 oz. container for $5.98)
While I generally stick with salon brand shampoo and conditioners, I was really impressed with the clean, fresh, and lightly floral scent of this shampoo and conditioner. Free of silicones, parabens, and dyes, this light moisture shampoo tended to my dry hair, without leaving it looking greasy. The three-ounce containers are a bit bigger than traditional travel size and don't take up a ton of room on my shower ledge. I like the fact that I can throw these in my travel bag, even though that poor bag hasn't seen the light of day in almost a year now!
Biore Charcoal Deep Cleansing Pore Strips - Estimated Value $0.80 (Buy a Value Pack of 18 for $14.44)
I have extremely acne-prone skin and have spent over half of my life trying out products to try and keep my face oil and zit free. Between prescription medications and over-the-counter concoctions, I finally had my skin looking pretty decent...and then the maskne happened...Ugh!!! Since I have been working from home for the last 3 weeks, my skin is finally clearing back up, but I did have some blackheads that needed vacating. I washed my face, lightly wet my nose, and applied this charcoal pore strip. After I set my timer for 15 minutes, I carefully peeled off the strip to reveal an impressive amount of blackheads. Yuck! I've tried these a few times in the past, but I do think this particular strip worked better than other brands. I'm not sure if it was the drying of the charcoal, but I am going to add these to my arsenal of products.
NYX Fill & Fluff Clear Brow Pomade Pencil - Full Size! Retail Value - $10.97
Oh, how I wish I could go back to the early 2000s and stop myself from over-plucking my brows! I have since spent the last 10 years lightly penciling in my brows to fill in and shape my brows into what they naturally looked like. I was really excited to receive this NYX Fill and Fluff Clear Brow Pomade as I tend to my brows daily. This clear pomade kept all of my strays in line and put them in place. The little brush is so soft and groomed each hair perfectly. I enjoyed this product, and while checking out the purchase info, I noticed this comes in a variety of colors along with clear. I think I would really enjoy the ash brown version to add a bit of volume to my brows and plan on adding it to my Walmart list for next week. (Check out my eye mask photo above to see how this brow pomade applied.)
essie Nail Polish in "Mosaic On Down" - Full Size! Retail Value $7.89
Anything that glitters and is gold, I swear, was made for me. While I usually don a natural nail look (because gel destroys my nails, and I'm too impatient to let traditional nail polishes dry) I immediately had to apply this shiny, glittery polish to my nails. I have used essie polishes in the past, but this gold version seemed to dry lightning-fast – and looks amazing! As far as wear time goes, I have done dishes in scorching water, assembled an excavator erector set, and folded laundry without a scuff or chip, which is pretty good. I noticed on the Walmart website, this brand is rated with 4.6 stars and has over 10,000 ratings which is pretty substantial!
Two coats and 10 minutes later and I've got myself a pure gold manicure!
e.l.f. Energizing Facial Oil Mist - Full Size! Retail Value $5.00
Like I mentioned above, my skin is acne-prone, so any time I see "facial oil" I tend to hesitate a bit. Since this is a mist, I did spritz myself throughout the day with it and found the light citrus and white tea scent to be of just the right caliber. After reading the ingredients, I noticed there were quite a few "glycols" in this mist, which actually left my skin feeling more dry than moisturized. This actually works out for my extensively oily skin but can see it wreaking havoc on someone with dry or sensitive skin.
WoodWick Mini Hourglass Candle 3 oz. - Estimated Value $4.19 (Buy a 22 oz candle for $30.79)
I love candles, and it just so happens that my sister gifts me with a new WoodWick candle every Christmas, so I was delighted to receive this cute mini version in one of my all-time favorite scents: Crimson Berries. The slightly sweet almost cinnamony fragrance is pure delight, without being too potent. These candles don't have near the throw power of a Bath and Body Works candle, but the crackle and muted scent are more husband friendly. I do want to mention that if you tend to burn a lot of candles – make sure to check/replace your furnace filter more frequently than recommended, as the candle wax turns them black!
Verdict: This is my first time reviewing a Limited Edition Walmart Beauty Box and I am impressed! My favorite item this month was the candle, but I also discovered new items that I will be purchasing in the future because of this box, such as the pore strips and pomade pencil. I did find it interesting when linking the items, that some of the retail values in the pamphlet don't match up with the online prices, mostly being less than what it actually would be to purchase online. My estimated value of this box came in at $35.47, which is almost 3X the cost of the box, which I feel is a great value.
To Wrap Up:
Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Yes, both versions are still in stock.
Value Breakdown: At $12.98 cost for this box and 9 items, you are paying approximately $1.44 per item.
