Animal Trackers Club Review - February 2021
Before we get started on the contents of this shipment, I wanted to highlight a few items that we received in our Introductory Box that we also used for this month:

Animal Trackers Lunchbox
We received this cute tin lunchbox featuring Bode Bear and the Animal Trackers logo which is perfect for storing all of our animal gear as we collect it each month. It will also double as a place to play with our animal magnets!

Animal Tracks Card Ring
This is our Animal Tracks card ring. Each month we will receive an animal photo and track card that we can add to this ring as we discover new animals.

Animal Coloring Card
This animal coloring card will be used to track which animals we've already explored and which are still to come!

This month we received a small hyena figurine.

Each month we receive a new card to add to our Animal Tracks ring. There is a color photograph of the animal on one side and their footprint on the back. It is printed on thicker cardstock and has a hole at the top corner so we can add it to our collection.

Each month they send a fact sheet with information about the featured animal. One side has full-color images, while the back has some sentences about them. They include little pictures in the story so that the kids can help read, too. I love that they are just the right size to store inside of the lunchbox!
After reading about our animal, we colored it in on our coloring card. Looks like there are only a few animals left!

These magnets are such a fun addition each month. He loves to play with them and stick them onto his lunchbox!

These foam masks are perfect for getting into character and pretending to be the featured animal!
Here he is laughing like a hyena. Be thankful I didn't take a video... his hyena laugh is quite high-pitched!

Our first activity this month was a fun sticker puzzle. Each little sticker rectangle has a number and you have to match it to the number on the white sheet. This was a great way to reinforce number recognition as well as work on fine motor skills since the stickers were so small.

Our other two activities involved using this cool little decoder.
The first worksheet explored the different sounds a y can make.

For each picture my son had to tell me whether it made an i or an e sound and then write that letter down into the box. This was great reading and writing practice for him! When he was all done he got to go back and "decode" to see if he answered it correctly.
Our other worksheet involved finding 14 different foods inside of his hyena. It was actually a lot harder than it looked!
He had fun using his decoder trying to find all of the items inside!
Verdict: This month's Animal Trackers Club box was a little light on the activity portion, but I loved that the ones they did include reinforced educational skills while still managing to be engaging and fun! My son loves getting a new animal each month and adding to his magnet collection. He also appreciates the foam masks and learning more about the animals. This box has been such a delight to us and I can't believe we only have a few more animals left in this subscription!
