Animal Trackers Club Review - January 2021
Before we get started on the contents of this shipment, I wanted to highlight a few items that we received in our Introductory Box that we also used for this month:
Please note the following items did NOT come in this box:
Animal Trackers Lunchbox
We received this cute tin lunchbox featuring Bode Bear and the Animal Trackers logo which is perfect for storing all of our animal gear each month as we collect it. It will also double as a place to play with our animal magnets!
Animal Tracks Card Ring
This is our Animal Tracks card ring. Each month we will receive an animal photo and track card that we can add to this ring as we discover new animals.
Animal Coloring Card
This animal coloring card will be used to track which animals we've already explored and which are still to come!
Now let's see what we received this month!
This month we received my favorite animal, an elephant! This is a really nice toy, it's a great size and is pretty hefty, and all of the details like the tusks are great!
My son was pretty excited for his new elephant!
Each month we receive a new card to add to our Animal Tracks ring. There is a colored photograph on one side and their footprint on the back. It is printed on thicker cardstock and has a hole at the top corner so we can add it to our collection.
We added our new card to our ring.
Each month they send a fact sheet with information about our animal. One side has full-color images, while the back has some sentences about them. They include little pictures in the story so that the kids can help read, too. I love that they are just the right size to store inside of our lunchbox!
He loves learning new facts about the animals each month!
He always has to color in his animal coloring card and make some guesses about which animal might be next!
These magnets are cute and act as another toy that he can play with by using his lunchbox.
He loves adding these to his lunchbox!
These masks are fun and my sons loves pretending to be the animal with them!
He was trumpeting like an elephant here.
We received this cute lacing elephant in our box. I love these lacing toys because they are such a great quiet fine motor activity!
My youngest was excited to test it out for us.
We received these two worksheets in our box that teaches about columns and rows and then has them apply that new knowledge to make an elephant grid drawing. I love this idea!
My son definitely needed a little help and guidance with the grid drawing, but I think it's great practice!
Our main activity this month was to make a 3D elephant using the paper they provided, some googly eyes and a party blower.
We cut out the pieces, then added some googly eyes and slid the pieces onto the blower so that the paper part formed his nose and the plastic mouthpiece was his tail.
Here is our finished elephant. How cute is that? He realized afterward that he wanted to color it in, of course!
Here it is in action. Or you can watch the video below to hear how it sounds!
How cute is that? I really love this idea and can't believe I've never seen it done before! It was really simple, too!
Verdict: Animal Trackers Club is so much fun for us each month! My son's enthusiasm for this box definitely has a lot to do with it, but for me, I feel like it's a great value and it has just the right mix of learning and fun! We received a mask, a toy, a magnet, a lacing elephant, and materials to make a fun 3D elephant in addition to educational worksheets, the animal fact card, and the animal tracks card. It's a great box for some simple animal fun!
