This style of necklace is actually on my "someday" wishlist... though in real gold! For now, this 18k plated version will certainly do! Some of you know that I am blessed with skin that literally turns anything that isn't true silver or gold a green color eventually. I expect this necklace will suffer the same fate, but I have worn it for about a week now (not in the shower or sleeping) and it hasn't started to turn on me yet. So that is a good sign! This twisted rope chain is a statement on its own as well as layered with other necklaces or even with charms hanging from it. The gold plating is a shade that isn't that garish yellow that some pieces plated are. It is actually downright convincing! I also love the length (19.5 inches) because it hits a really perfect spot on my neck and it's long enough to wear over my favorite black turtleneck.
Simple and chic.
Verdict: This month's Cali Tiger piece was another winner. The quality seems pretty great (my chain ring from last month is still going strong!) and as someone who can't just go buy these pieces in solid gold, this sub fills a great void in my jewelry collection by giving me pieces that not many people would ever know were simply gold-plated. I just bought a lottery ticket, but until I hit it big and can buy all the gold I want, I am loving this subscription.
