I want to see one more spoiler before I decide whether to skip or not. So far, useful items, but nothing exciting.

Hilarious that they try to make it sound like you can choose as a seasonal. This isn’t the first time they’ve pulled tricks like these. Also this box is a dud. I have all of this. I think we’ve seen it and done it all. Time to move on.

I edit content for a living so it is driving me NUTS that the lead on this — and the other post — refers to the SPRINT 2021 box.

Kim

I have Yet to find a portable charger that will charge an iPad.

I love Alice’s idea of using the tech roll for art supplies. Seems like it would hold a nice quantity of items for a sweet travel kit.
It looks like a lot of folks are unhappy with this box, but for me it’s a nice refreshing change from fff and Ipsy, where I feel like a lot of the items I received weren’t practical or good quality.

I’m glad I unsubscribed. Boycotting any box that uses the term vegan leather. It’s plastic. I want leather. Nothing here excites me. Every spoiler I can find at Marshall’s or TJ Max. I’m splurging on Norlii box & no other big ticket boxes.

Shadr

Leather has a terrible impact if you look at the process of making it with all the chemical treatment, it’s really not sustainable and also harmful to animals. There are so many different materials that fall under “vegan leather” that it’s disingenuous to label it all as plastic because there are very different processes and materials possible ranging from chemicals like PVC to fabric made from recycled materials or even fruit. The best choice would be to buy things already used if your concern is not creating a “plastic” footprint.

Angel

Actually, hides from beef processing are ending up in landfills because of the big “vegan leather” push… some people still like the real thing, instead of vegan leather which doesn’t last nearly as long, isn’t the same quality, and doesn’t have the same feel. Wouldn’t it be better to use the hides to make leather goods instead of sending them to the landfill?

The only thing I really like so far is the artwork on the box ! Can’t risk this if I don’t get a chance to choose atleast something as a seasonal . Don’t want to land up with stuff I won’t use .

Canceled

I have all the above items and don’t have any use for anymore.

It’s rare for me to be grumpy toward a sub company but (a) I’m still waiting to get my winter box and (b) Causebox phrasing has become consistently misleading by making it sound like all subscribers get choices on some items when it’s really just annual. I subscribed to Causebox from the very beginning and used to love it but they don’t source as equitably as they used to and their customer service has become lackluster.

Canceled my subscription! There is absolutely nothing in the first 2 categories that I would even want.. I am not downing Causebox, I am sure that a lot of people can use the products that they are including, but I am not one of them.. I have several power banks.. too many kitchen towels.. I wear glasses, so those blue light glasses I couldn’t even wear, unless they offered them as a prescription.. The bands I already have, the cup I don’t need and that tech organizer I don’t need either.. I am hoping the summer box works a lot better!

Reply ButtonReply

TL

I just canceled mine and my daughter’s. Neither of us could get excited for the box and justify the expense. I really like it too. :/

Reply ButtonReply

Joi

I signed up for the annual subscription because I loved the Winter Intro box and I am starting to regret it if these are the items I’m choosing from. There is not one of these items that I want or can use. My favorite thing is the collapsible cup, but I just picked one up from the FabFitFun add ons sale. I should have just done what I did last year and bought Welcome boxes each season cause those seem to be great.

I saw someone saying you can skip a box if you want. How do I do that?

Reply ButtonReply

Tat

What I love about the collapsible cup is that it allows us to support two guys living in NYC. They are the very definition of underserved groups who need help.

Reply ButtonReply

Molly Honey

Tat… Totally😒

Shadr

Email them before the deadline of March 1st at [email protected] and they should just process it automatically. There’s no limit to skips (for now).
Agree with you about none of the 6 products really jumping out at me. A lot of them seem like clearance items I’d have no use for and that’s not worth the price I paid up front for annual.

Reply ButtonReply

Katie

I skipped this one too but thought I read it was allowed only once in a 12 month period. It probably throws a wrench in the process for them but appreciate the opportunity to do so.
Usually I use or share with family but nothing stood out this time.

Rose

Is it just me, or the tech organizer is the ugliest shade of diarrhea brown imaginable? I am still selecting it, as I like the configuration, but the color is (IMO) putrid.

Reply ButtonReply

Molly Honey

Yea, it’s pretty bad

Reply ButtonReply

Deb

Agree. Exact same color as the travel jewelry box from a few season ago.

Reply ButtonReply

Katie

If you have an annual sub and choose to skip this box, you can still use the market when it come up, right? Just resubbed but not excited about these choices yet.
Also, just want to say that I’m loving the green towels from a few boxes ago. Feels like I’m exfoliating after showering or washing my face. Gives me a pink glow.

Reply ButtonReply

Kc

Yes u can

Reply ButtonReply

Beth

The marketplace is open now, so you could just go ahead and try it out.

Reply ButtonReply

Christiane

I’ve skipped a couple of boxes as an annual member but have always been able to shop in the market. You should be fine for the market even if you choose to skip.

Reply ButtonReply

Sophia R Roccucci

I am trying to find more info on the NIMBLE CHAMP Lite Portable Charger, but can’t find anything.

Reply ButtonReply

Beth

well, the company is gonimble dot com. I don’t see the Champ model, but maybe it is new?

@Alice, I love your idea of using the roll for art supplies, though @Rose, I definitely agree on the color. I’m hoping it’s better in person.

Reply ButtonReply

LJ

🤔 I signed up for annual for last season and liked the Winter box more than I thought I would. I hope that turns out to be true as nothing so far is anything I really need or want if I’m being honest.

Is the deadline the same for skipping as an annual?

Reply ButtonReply

Jessi

Does anyone know the deadline to skip this box? I have 2 annuals, and so far, I just don’t want two boxes from this season. Thanks.

Reply ButtonReply

CT

I was charged at midnight last night under annual.

Reply ButtonReply

Lauralee

Omg. That makes me infuriated! I haven’t been charged yet. I’m seasonal but still don’t have my winter box. I just checked FedEx, and it won’t be here tomorrow…so I won’t get it before being charged for the spring box!?!

Jen

They pushed up the deadline and started charging the 25th this time around. Didn’t communicate to everyone, but I saw it on some of the groups. You can probably still get this refunded if you cancel today.

Milena

Their FAQs say you can skip before the next seasonal renewal date, which is March 1. I think I’ll be skipping unless the next few spoilers are amazing.

Reply ButtonReply

Alice

Definitely the tech roll. I’ll be using it for art supplies.

Reply ButtonReply

Izzie

I had a good experience with glass ladder & co. products. If I’m not skipping, I’ll probably choose the organizer. Waiting for the other spoilers.

Reply ButtonReply

Lexi

I’m not mad at this box, but am definitely realizing I’d rather do seasonal or wait for welcome boxes. Not skipping, but definitely not excited. My winter welcome box was awesome though, and two months left on annual right now, but this one is turning out hit or miss for me, not to say the quality isn’t there .. just my needs aren’t syncing with it I guess?

Reply ButtonReply

Sherri

So far this box is shaping up to be a very useful, although perhaps not super exciting, box. I will get good use out of the portable charger and the tech organizer.

Reply ButtonReply

Cynthia

I agree and am choosing the same 2 items.

Reply ButtonReply

MzKayleeJames

Me four! With three kids someone always needs a charge and I like the glass and ladder portfolio I have so this will be a nice addition.

Tracy

Me three. Tech gadgets accessories are in high demand!

K

I slid in under the wire and bought a few extra winter intro boxes for the Pepper + Vetiver bowls as one-off boxes. I really liked those and the colors, and it was worth it to me regardless of what the “choice” items end up being.

My annual subscription just ended and I thought about doing one resubscription. At this point the only thing that interests me at all are the napkins, and I’d rather buy a set in my choice of color from somewhere and save my money.

Reply ButtonReply

Tat

Don’t use tech. No such thing as blue light: talk to an optometrist. Rest Chinese plastic junk.
Never doing an annual again.

Reply ButtonReply

Rachel

I used to work for an optometrist. Blue light is a thing and recent research shows too much exposure can be harmful to your eyes. It is part of the natural light spectrum but also emitted from screens (like computers and phones). If you go to get glasses and tell your optometrist that you spend a lot of time on screens a good doctor will discuss options for coatings for your glasses to cut down on the potentially harmful blue light. Many patients I saw noticed less eye fatigue with such anti-glare coatings.
Not saying you need these glasses but blue light is a thing and can be harmful to your eyes. Always take good care of your eyes, you don’t get another pair!

Reply ButtonReply

Jolene Robinson

I have a degree in biomedical technology, I’m pretty sure there is such a thing as blue light. Just saying.

Reply ButtonReply

Tracy

Blue light is one of several emitted by the Sun as part of the light spectrum visible to humans. Light on this spectrum changes throughout the day to help people wake in the morning and sleep at night.

Blue light is at its peak during the day, which makes a people feel more awake during that time. As the day turns to night, the amount of blue light fades so that people can sleep at an appropriate time. The changes in light helps entrain the human body to the appropriate 24-hour day circadian rhythm cycle.

Screens on our phones, computers, and Televisions also emit blue light, but instead of wearing glasses to block it, you can change the settings so the light is yellow in the evening (typically called “night setting” or similar). This will help you stay on a normal sleep/wake schedule.

NASA took an interest in this subject because astronauts had trouble keeping their circadian rhythm entrained while living in space for long periods. I work at NASA JSC and do research on this subject (and others) that affect human health of the men and women who live on ISS all year long.

Zo – thanks for the tip! I have a Dell. I currently use blue light glasses in the evening, and they do seem to work (I get a sleepy at a normal time, now, instead of the wee hours of the morning), but changing my laptop settings seems much easier.

zo

Thanks for this info. Sounds like a fun job.

For those who might have a Dell (that’s what I have for work), if you go to settings, and display, there is a night light setting. You can set a timer for when you want to turn it on automatically. I always work after-hours so I have mine set for 7 pm. It’s very soothing on the eyes. I think of it as a warm light – it’s not just decreasing brightness.

I have a kindle and the blue light settings for that turns the display orange-ish, which is nowhere near as nice at the Nightlight setting on my laptop.

Milena

That’s really interesting; thanks for sharing! Also, your job sounds awesome!

Joy

You can email customer service to skip a box if this one isn’t a good fit fit you. I did that last season.
