DateBox Club January 2021 Review
Next month, Dustin and I will celebrate our 17 year "dating" anniversary, and after spending more than half of my life with him, we are always looking for ways to reconnect. While my husband's idea of a date is ice-fishing or snowmobiling, he does humor me from time to time, and participates in date boxes without too much of a fuss. This is the first time I have reviewed DateBox Club, so read below to see what we thought.

Our date this month included a simplistic envelope that included the introduction to this month's "Adventure Awaits - Hello 2021!" Date. This is the first time I have reviewed this box, and I must say that I am impressed with the well laid out intro, pictures of the items, and steps of completion. Also included is their social media info in case you want to post photos and connect online.

KuKuRuze Gourmet Popcorn - Retail Value $10.00
This past year, my sister actually introduced me to the caramel and cheddar popcorn craze, and I have taken it and ran with it. This. Is. Amazing. One may not think that cheddar cheese and caramel would pair so well together, but I find the sweet and salty combo absolutely addicting. This gourmet version is top-notch and is packed with full popped kernels that are laden with flavor. The first step of our date was to "set the mood" with our popcorn and turn on the recommended Spotify playlist. I gotta say....the way to a man's heart is through his stomach, so this worked like a charm to lure him in! My only complaint is the bag was too small!
No one can resist a date when snacks are involved!! Just look at those voluptuous kernels!

Energy Cleansing Pure Sage Candle
Step two of our date was to light our intention candle. This hand poured soy candle is clean burning and made with white sage. Sage has been used for centuries for it's cleansing properties and most boosting qualities, plus it smells amazing. While we lit the candle, we talked about our hopes and dreams for 2021 and of course held hands because you know.... romance!

Step 3 was my favorite part of our date, and while my husband didn't complete this during our actual date, he did complete it on his lunch break at work. He is not the greatest at writing down his emotions, so this took him out of his comfort zone, but he did finish it with quality answers, and actually made me cry (happy tears)! I will honestly treasure this little book forever as his answers were so sweet and from the heart. This was a fun and easy activity, but really was special and heartwarming.

Here were some of our answers. It was interesting to read my husband's answers, as I absolutely HATE getting his coffee ready every evening, but now knowing how much it means to him made me stop and think twice and actually start to enjoy showing him kindness by doing that annoying task for him.

Your 2021 Adventure
With 2020 being a flop, we are all about looking forward to the future. This fun scroll included a calendar with 2 spaces to fill in with the included stickers. These stickers were labelled with different dates to choose from to intentionally plan dates for each month. Leaving room for notes, we were able to add reminders and even have space for extras!
With the candle lit, the Spotify play list rolling, and our scroll, we had a great time planning our date schedule, and talking about our future while eating that delicious popcorn!
The Verdict: This was our first time receiving a box from Date Box Club and we had a great experience. I have reviewed a few other date boxes in the past, and this one was probably the most laid back and easy to follow. We enjoyed the step-by-step itinerary that guided our date, and we thoroughly enjoyed the variety of music in the Spotify playlist. I am all about candles, so that was a hit, as was the popcorn. Like I said above, I will treasure my book Dustin filled out forever, and we can't wait to put our date night calendar into use! All in all, I think this was a solid box, and while I maybe would have liked to see another physical item for $39.95, I feel the overall experience was worth that price, as my husband and I were able to reconnect in a way we wouldn't have on our own. I can't wait to see what next month's theme might be!
