Ipsy Reveals Are Up for the February 2021 Glam Bag!

The striped bag would look so pretty without the logo on it.

I chose the Pixi RoseGlow eyeliner to AVOID receiving yet another BLACK eyeliner. I am getting: the HaruHaru toner, the R.E.P. Sleep cream, a foundation brush (don’t wear the stuff and… forgot the last item. I added the Dr Brandt sleep mask (has great reviews), a lip oil and a leave-in spray. I always spend way too much on add ons. The more disappointing the bag, the more I spend on extra stuff. At least I didn’t get tweezers. That will be next month.😊

My bag is skincare-heavy and not very exciting this month:
• Benefit Clear Brow Gel – I had that in my June bag. Thought we’re not supposed to receive repeats unless it’s add-ons?. Besides, the gel didn’t work for me, no hold at all.
• Codage Micro-peeling Mask (ok)
• Haruharu Black rice HA toner. Funny I was in-between this option and the Pixi Plum eyeliner in my choice, but since I’m not a big fan of HA products, went with the eyeliner. Boom, the toner is also in my bag. I prefer my Pitera essence to any toner, it’s my forever HG.
• Pixi eyeliner in DeepPlum (my pick, love the shade and turns out it also has a subtle shimmer, sounds thrilling to me)
• Thisworks Mask, Moisturizer and Primer in one. Let’s mix all the “good stuff” and call it a multitasker! I’m not sure about this item.

Add-ons:
• Kosette Salt Scalp Scrub. It was my pick last month and I loved the product (not the packaging though).
• Payot Hydra 24+ Crème Glacée. On a constant lookout for the best moisturizer. I used the brand before and I liked it.

Wish I’d gotten a JS lip balm or fragrance. Only received fragrance once in 4 yrs being subscribed.

It’s so strange that hardly anyone in the comments received a Bite lipstick. I assumed/hoped I’d get either the Bite or the Nars as I have bright colors and lipstick as one of the few things I like on my Ipsy quiz and they were the ‘eye candy’ of the spoilers. BUT…I got a lot of ‘basics’ and ‘blah’ things like mint chapstick and body scrub and face lotion.

Plus, the add-ons are, in my opinion, not exciting either. No Nars or Bite there either!

This one may be my worst bag yet, and I was already unhappy with the bag design “bait and switch” AFTER it was too late to skip the bag. I usually only get a bag every other month or so, unless I love the bag design or one of the choices which will cause me to “unskip.”

All month long, they advertised the beautiful red envelope style bag, and then suddenly change it up to a 50-50 shot of getting it. I changed my frequency back to monthly because I loved that red bag, and now (with my luck) I’m probably going to get the other one.

Two of my items are chapstick and tweezers. (insert sad trombone sound) If I also get that striped bag instead of the red one, that will just be rubbing salt in the wound on an already disappointing bag.

The only items I am excited for are the Shaina B blush in Bellini (which I know I like because I have it already) and the NARS lipstick (which I chose). My fifth item is an eyeshadow duo, which is fine, but now seeing the other options, I wish I’d gotten the other duo of the same brand.

My bag is awful this month (thank goodness my Plus was awesome):

I think I’ve accidentally convinced ipsy that I go through a lip scrub/balm and an eye cream every month. Nobody needs this many!!

I feel like they’ve been trying to move to get people more of a mix of skincare and color cosmetics, and while I know that’s super cool for a lot of people…I just want my makeup! Skincare in Plus is great, but if the sample’s too small to try for two weeks and actually maybe see results, it just feels a little silly.

This is my first really meh bag since I signed up 6 or so months ago. I’m really bummed that the bite beauty didn’t even show up for me as an add on.
I chose the innisfree mud mask.
Farah eye shadow brush. I have so many brushes and I use my fingers for makeup.
Jersey shore peppermint lip balm. Useful but I have a lot. I wish this was a color.
Sophia mabelle lip oil. Don’t like lip oils.
Soroci cream. I have been curious about this brand.
Added on salt scalp scrub because I love scalp scrubs.

I opted against product choice this month, and I’m pretty stoked for my bag.

YC Collection loose setting powder

These are all a good fit for me product-wise; I hope the colors work out. (And I have a million brushes, but this will either go into rotation as a loose powder brush or it will go into the pile of brushes I’ve been using to clean computer keyboards.)

I added on a Karmela Cosmetics lipstick and the Banila Co cleansing balm.

Tweezers, cleansing oil, setting powder by Lottie London, innisfree clay mask I picked, and primer. This is like a perfect bag for a teenager just beginning to figure out makeup. I’m in my late 30s. well I have a teenager so I guess she gets most of my bag! And of course I’m sure I’ll get the ugly striped one now. I am really let down by this month especially since I’m pared down to just ipsy and I skipped plus.

Shockingly I’m loving 🥰 my bag!
For the first time I actually want everything in it .

I picked the Pixie pen in deep purple, which I already have but was the only thing offered I had any interest in.

They picked:

– Balance me Wonder eye cream, which I wanted to try

-Huangjisoo cleansing oil, wanted a travel size of this, in case we ever get to travel again

-Moselle beauty sunkissed blush in golden hour, been begging for new blush

-And Creme shop mask duo, love me Creme shop masks 💕

I added on the hydrating setting spray so I could try one of the tips from their blog for looking better on Zoom calls and the Benefit Love tint for lips and cheeks.

Of course this probably means I won’t like much of anything in next month’s bag , but maybe I’ll get lucky again?

I am very happy with my bag this month. I’m getting:

Banila Co. Clarifying Cleansing Balm – I love cleansing balms. The one from Farmacy is my go-to but it will be nice to try another one to compare.

Innisfree Clay Mask – Choice item.

Shades by Shan Eyeshadow in Whip & Shortcake Honey – The only item I am not happy with. I keep telling Ipsy “no” to neutral eyeshadows, but I still keep getting them. I even changed my hair and eye color in my profile to see if that will help with getting different colors. There was a beautiful pink and also a purple eyeshadow in the items pictured, and I am still getting the neutrals. What else do I have to do?

Shaina B Miami Blush Brush – I love brushes and, thanks to Ipsy, I will never need to buy another one, but I will never complain about getting them.

Soroci Waterdrop Cream – I love getting skincare more than makeup so I’m happy

F.A.R.A.H Powder Brush in 620F – (Add-on). I need a good powder brush, the one I have currently is old and shedding.

Sophia + Mabelle Lip Oil – (Add-on)

Illuminati Cosmetics Shadow Quad in Master – (Add-on). If Ipsy will not send me different colors I will get them myself if they are offered.

My bag is horrible:

–Haruharu black rice toner (pick–it was literally the best of the lot I was given to choose from)

–Eyeko cream shadow in copper: yep, yet another shadow in the same brown/taupe/bronze family-it’s all Ipsy ever gives me in these single shadows

None of the pretty blushes, eyeshadow duos or colored lippies.

All this, plus the newly-revealed bait-and-switch on the bag (or course I’ll get the striped one and not the cute red one). My bags have been dreadful for months. None of my reviews matter. Is Ipsy trying to drive us away?

I canceled my GBX at the last minute and I’m really happy with that decision, because I got a great regular bag.

I was hopping for a cute lipstick to be thrown in the mix, (hello, elusive Bite Strawberry lipstick) but I guess the only colorful item I’ll be receiving will be the bag itself.

I don’t understand how they decide which customers will get access to certain add ons. I wasn’t offered half of the add ons seen here. I’ve been so disappointed the last few months so I think it’s time to say goodbye to Ipsy for awhile.
