We all love a reason to celebrate, but the next big event on our calendar isn't just any old holiday. It's February 13th—Galentine's Day—and we are freaking out, to put it lightly! This marks MSA's 5th year of going all out in the name of lovin' on our besties, and we're proverbially partying with the usual giveaways, plus some additional surprises we think you'll love.
So, gather your gals—whoever they may be and however a gathering may look this year—and get ready for the most magnificent kind of lovefest. It's all going down on Saturday, 2/13. Bookmark our Galentine's Day page so you don't miss a thing.
"Galentine's Day" not ringing any bells? Let us explain. It all originated as a Valentine's Day Eve celebration in a 2010 episode of the satirical sitcom Parks & Recreation. The show's bright and bubbly protagonist, Leslie Knope, throws a boozy brunch in celebration of her girlfriends. In no time this character's fun idea transcended the screen and became the day to proclaim the platonic tenderness we're always looking for opportunities to do up!
Here's how Leslie puts it: "Every February 13, my ladyfriends and I leave our husbands and our boyfriends at home, and we just come and kick it, breakfast-style. Ladies celebrating ladies. It’s like Lilith Fair, minus the angst. Plus frittatas." And, not to be overlooked: waffles. Leslie's favorite food has become a hallmark of the holiday and our favorite excuse to make our dearest waffle bar dreams come true.
If this is your first year joining the festivities, check out our 2020 giveaway winners page to see how MSA has raised our champagne flutes to Galentine's Day in the past.
