Society Socks Men's Review December 2020
Society Socks always comes with a card. It typically informs subscribers of charities it supports. This month they wished subscribers a Happy New Year and thanked us for supporting their monthly donations of socks.
As for the socks, each month, subscribers receive two pairs of socks each featuring Society Socks' own designs. Usually, one pair will have a quirkier design and the other will be more abstract. All Society Socks pairs are made with a cotton, nylon, and spandex blend. There's no extra cushioning on the sole, so they're more like formal socks in that regard. The socks come up around 2/3 to my knee. I am 5'9".
Color Striped Socks, Estimated Value $12.00 (based on similar socks)
These colorful socks scream the 1980's. They make me feel like I'm in an arcade or something. There are four sections of colored stripes. They are dark blue, light blue, yellow, and red. The colored stripes are separated by think black stripes. The top, heel, and toe accents are black as well. As colorful as these socks are, I think what really makes them look great is the black. The contrast and separation look cool. I'm a fan of all things 80's. Unfortunately, my wife has already claimed these as they apparently match a sweater she owns.
Skiing Socks, Estimated Value $12.00 (based on similar socks)
These socks feature two different sets of skiers and snowboarders among snow-covered evergreens. They are light blue socks and are purposefully "blotchy" (my word) to look like snow. The accents are a dark blue. I have to be honest and say I've never hit the slopes before, but love the idea of warming up in a lodge and I think these socks are perfect for that. If you've read my reviews before, you know I like the socks with details. I really like the light blue color of the socks. It goes well with most outfits. Then if someone takes the time to notice, they'll be pleasantly surprised with the snowy details. These socks are more my style. Unfortunately, my wife has claimed these as well, because the they have cute little trees on them.
Verdict: Society Socks continues its consistently cool sock designs. Every month I get a shot of excitement wondering what the designs will be, and they rarely disappoint. I liked both pairs this month, but will have to go with the skiing ones as my favorite. Even without the cool little details, I really enjoy the color of them. I liked how they were able to make it look snowy. This subscription keeps impressing me. My sock drawer has a lot more personality and expression since having it. On the occasion a pair is not my style, I can always pass it along to someone else. In fact, I gave several pairs as stocking stuffers for Christmas this year and they were all a hit. Everyone loves fun socks. Especially my wife.
It may be worth noting, I couldn't find these specific pairs in their store. But there are still many pairs to choose from. Some are marked down, so check them out.

Value Breakdown: These two pairs of socks cost $19 with FREE shipping, meaning each pair is about $9.50. Most, if not all, of the socks that subscribers receive, can be purchased directly from Society Socks. Most are $12, but some are on sale for $9. However, there IS shipping if you do it this way. I did a quick check for Pennsylvania, and it was 3 extra dollars. So you're saving $8 by having the subscription, which is a decent savings. A subscription like this, in my opinion, is for people who were going to buy socks like this anyway. You have it delivered to your door, it's a little surprise, and you save some money. Otherwise, if you're concerned about getting socks you don't like, it may be best for you to purchase only the pairs you like directly from their site. You'll just have to pay a little more per pair.
