Tribe Beauty Box "In Love With Me" February 2021 Review
Here is the info sheet for the box. Since there were two variations of this box, each side of the info sheet lists the two different variants.
Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Bum Bum Cream, 2.5 oz - Retail Value $20
I love this body cream, and it has a bit of a cult following so I’m really excited to see it in this box! Subscribers could have received this or a new beautyblender and had the option to choose which one they'd like to receive prior to boxes shipping out. This body cream has a strong scent of salted caramel, pistachio, and vanilla (love it or hate it). I loved this lotion when I was a single lady, and my boyfriend loves it when I use this lotion now. It absorbs into my skin really well and leaves it hydrated and smooth, and the scent does definitely linger (as I said, you’ll love it or hate it).
BeBella Shades of Roses Palette - Retail Value $12
I was surprised when I saw the retail value on this palette – I was definitely expecting it to be higher. This is also a newly-released palette, and I appreciate that detail. This has a very unique color range, we have some BOLD glitters, some shimmers, and some mattes in pinks, purples, nudes, and golds. I’m a sucker for a shimmer and those swatched beautifully, but I see this palette being one I reach for when I need a pop of color rather than when I want to make a full eyeshadow look with one palette.
Inmo Cosmetics Eyelighter in Influence.com - Retail Value $19
I had visions of using this gorgeous blue liquid eyeshadow as a show-stopping eyeliner, but this was sheerer than I was expecting (and compared to the other Eyelighter we received). Because of that, I wasn’t too sure how to use this – I think it’s a little bit outside of my makeup expertise.
Inmo Cosmetics Eyelighter in Blessed Neva Stressed - Retail Value $19
This isn’t as unique as the blue version, but it is much more wearable. It’s also more opaque, so I could use this as a swipe-and-go on days that I just wanted to have a simple soft shimmery nude eyeshadow. This reminds me a lot of the Stila liquid eyeshadows, only more affordable and from an indie brand that focuses on innovation.
Folly Fire Bronzing Blush in Baked - Retail Value $20
This bronzing blush is a gorgeous terracotta color with a bit of shimmer, but it looked a little too ruddy on my skin. I’m super picky with blush so this wasn’t a surprise, and I did appreciate the tiny bit of shimmer that gives this blush a glow and how it blended out.
Luxie Beauty Large Powder Brush #518 - Retail Value $31
I love this brush. Luxie makes some gorgeous brushes, and this one is large and fluffy, and super soft on my skin. This made applying setting powder to my face a breeze, and it matches other Luxie brushes in my collection that I received from other boxes (I still can never have enough).
Here are the swatches! My left arm has the first three vertical lines on the roses palette.
My right arm has the last vertical line of the palette, the blush, and the two Eyelighters.
The Verdict: Tribe Beauty Box was fun this month! The rockstars for me were the Luxie brush and Sol De Janeiro body cream, and the value of those two items is already $10 more than the cost of the box with shipping. I appreciate that this box has a reasonable value (everything totals $121), but the value is also realistic and not overly inflated. If you’re a makeup lover, this box is for you – I’m pretty well versed and I still find myself being creatively challenged by the products this box sends (and I mean that in a good way!)
