BarkBox is a reader-favorite monthly subscription box for dogs.
BarkBox customizes your box to your dog’s size. For reference, this review is for the medium size, which is recommended for dogs 20-50 lbs. Our beloved rescue dog, Rufus, is around 40 lbs. and is 12 years old. He can be a bit picky about toys but usually loves treats.
If you have a younger pup or just one who needs toys of the rough and tumble variety, I highly recommend trying the Super Chewer subscription (read our reviews to learn more!)
My Subscription Addiction pays for this subscription. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

February 2021 BarkBox "Dinner Dates" Review
The February box included 2 toys, 2 bags of treats, and a chew - this is close to what you can expect with your monthly subscription, though it does vary for everyone once in a while.
Sometimes, these items are marked as 'Sold Out' on the BarkBox app - but they have a little 'As Seen In BarkBox' section of the BarkShop where you can grab items featured in monthly themes.
Bark Pork Recipe Chew Bar, 1.4 oz.
Rufus has received a few chew bars like this recently in other boxes and he suddenly is not into them. He licked and sort of pushed this around, but then left it alone. I left it out on his dog bed for a while to see if maybe he just wasn't hungry, but he never went back to it. Maybe it is the texture that he doesn't like anymore? The ingredients in this bar are pork, dry ground chickpeas, honey, vegetable gelatin, tapioca starch, turmeric powder, and more. This is great to use as a snack for your doggie by breaking off a few pieces or you can let them eat as they go which is normally what Rufus would do with a treat like this.
Cup of Canoodles
Cup of Noodles is the best, I think most can agree on that and I just recently introduced my kids to healthier homemade ramen. Both of my kids thought that this was an actual bowl of noodles from a distance, but loved that it was a toy for Rufus. It has a fun crinkle sound when you play with it and is great for tossing around. Another high-quality toy that is just beyond cute, but I will say it makes me hungry when I see it on the floor.
Bark Wakey Wakey Soft Bakes Bacon & Oatmeal Recipe, 4 oz.
This was another treat that Rufus was hesitant on this month. He did eventually eat it, but he licked it for a while first. My husband thought that it might be a texture thing until he felt it and saw that these are really soft little cookies. So maybe Rufus didn't love the taste. Since these treats are of such great quality, we decided to pass these along to my parent's dogs. They both gobbled these up! Each soft-baked bite is made with real bacon and maple syrup. I must say, these looked and smelled really delicious.
Bark Oinky Jerky Sticks Pork Recipe with Apples, 3 oz.
We have a snack winner! Rufus cannot get enough of these jerky sticks. These chewy sticks are made with real pork and apples. I love how simple the ingredients are while still packing in a ton of flavor. The sticks are easy to break apart if you don't want to give your doggie the whole thing at once. Rufus is usually really good with treats like this so we felt comfortable giving them to him as-is. He is a really dainty eater for a dog so he will enjoy one of these slowly on his dog bed or out on the deck in the sun.
Main Squeeze Cheese - Retail Value $10.00
I could not figure out what this was at first, but once I read that it was cheese I understood! As a cheese lover, I really appreciate this adorable toy. The middle section is crinkly and is perfect for playing fetch or a little tug of war with your dog. Rufus isn't the biggest fan of toys, but sometimes a toy comes along that he really loves. This is that toy! My kids have been playing with him a lot with this and will even go fetch around the house with it.
Verdict: BarkBox delivered another fun box this month. I am still blown away by how adorable the toys in this box are! They are so fun for Rufus to play with, but I love seeing them around my house, they genuinely make me happy (and this month they made me hungry). Rufus isn't the biggest toy fan, but he was loving playing with the noodles and cheese toys along with my kids. The treats this month were somewhat of a miss for Rufus. Maybe he just wasn't hungry when he tried them or perhaps he didn't love their texture. The soft baked bites smell incredible, just like a cookie, but he took a while to eat the ones we gave him. I decided to pass them along to my parent's dogs who really loved them, and they were small enough for their puppy to enjoy, too. As always though, Rufus was obsessed with the jerky stick. I love that this box focuses on healthy treats with simple ingredients. It makes me feel good giving Rufus treats that I know are going to fill his belly and keep him healthy.
