I finally canceled this month. I get beautyfix for skincare and I know a lot of people seem to like that mascara, but it feels like bait and switch to give a mascara in a box that’s about skincare. I have lash extensions so I literally can’t wear mascara, and beautyfix was the last frontier of boxes where I thought I was safe from ever getting a mascara. It feels like dermstore is trying to be something they’re not!

blergh – same. I started off with Birchbox 100000 years ago (then Allure, Ipsy, etc.), and I was SO excited when I first got Beautyfix! It was pretty much all fancy skincare stuff, which was what I’d been loving from the other boxes (only the occasional mascara, eyeliner, and maybe lipgloss were exciting; shadow palettes, contour/bronzer/highlighter, and kooky-colored nailpolish was just given away or swapped). A bunch of nice skin and hair products, though? YES PLEASE!
I love Beauty Heroes & Boxwalla, but have rarely opted in because of the price; I prefer Beautyfix’s model of giving you a bunch of smaller items to try, rather than gambling on a couple of big ones you might not like. (Petit Vour was ok for a while, but then the skin/haircare to makeup ratio seemed to skew in the wrong direction. :/) .
It broke my heart a little to cancel Beautyfix (they introduced me to so much exciting new stuff) but at a certain point it was just too much of a waste to justify – and the boxes haven’t been trending upward. 🙁 I was excited about See New for a minute, but (despite the cute handwritten notes), they’ve been underwhelming me the last few boxes… Pearlesque is gone and most other boxes are either super expensive and/or at least half makeup/heavily perfumed stuff I won’t use. 🙁

I just canceled. Hit or miss with this one, but seems to me consistently teeny samples. Loved the PCA Skin mask last month. But I only got 3 uses out of it. It FEELS like they’ve had some fresh-out-of-college intern curating for the past year or so…

After 2 years or so, I have canceled my BeautyFix subscription. There were a few exceptional products – the Lancer face oil, Sachajuan shampoo and conditioner. But at the end of the day, I was paying for samples that my aesthetician laid out in baskets in the waiting room for free.
With that said, the Dermstore customer service was outstanding.

HARD agree – I once had a sunscreen leak in my box and they sent me an entire new one, no big deal! They’ve always been great in quickly fixing any issues I had & it’s super easy to quit anytime you want. If only their boxes hadn’t started sucking more & more over time. 🙁

Has anyone noticed that on the website it says “6+ products with a value over $100” but lately they’ve only been including 5 products! I sent them a email last month but I never got a response.

Last month was the first time I saw 5 products. It looks like this month it’s 6. The 2 that have been spoiled and also deluxe-size samples from SkinMedica, Neova, Biopelle and Kate Somerville from what I am reading above.

Oops I miss counted lol

Is it me, or is Wander mascara in EVERY beauty box about every 3-4 months?

Not EVERY box, but it is a welcome inclusion for me. This is about the only brand that doesn’t smudge or clump. I’m also looking forward to try the Dermstore Collection Day Cream. I was dubious about their tinted sunscreen, but found it to be the first usable tinted product I have tried in ages (using retin A makes most tinted items a no-go for me).

Ooh, I love that mascara! I might have ordered this box just for that, but I have a couple of mascaras in my stash to work through.

I’m excited to try the day cream. I haven’t wanted a box in months, so this may get me back.

It looks good! If you read through the box reviews on the site, you’ll see a lot of people asking for moisturizer. They may be listening to us!
I’m hoping for a sunscreen in the next box. That would make my day and save me 41$ at sephora!

I wish they don’t charge shipping…. but maybe it is a good thing so that I will stay away from BF, lol. I have to say Wander Mascara is one of my favorite sub box discoveries.

Glad i’m already skipping this month since i already get an allure and ipsy this month. this isn’t exciting to me

The rest of the box looks pretty good! Kate Somerville cleanser, what looks like ampoulies from Biopelle.. Can’t quite make out the products for Skinmedica and Neova. Neova looks like maybe a sunscreen?.. not sure.
I’m excited!

Boring, skipping. That mascara is great though and my go to. I am stocked up on it though

It’s my favorite mascara, too. However, I’m not jumping back into BF either.

I’m surprised people put a value on what a product retails for instead of quality of ingredients. After all a high priced gigolo is still a gigolo.

I’m excited to to try dermstore’s brand. I never have before, and I love finding a new product that is actually affordable enough to purchase the full size 💚

That mascara is amazing and is the total price of the box. However, that Dermstore moisturizer contains dimethicone which always clogs my pores plus it has other undesirable ingredients like Peg-100. For a company that is known for selling many amazing skincare brands you think they would do better with their own formula.

Thanks for the info about the moisturizer. Bummer because that mascara is fantastic!
Honestly I need another moisturizer like I need a hole in my head 😖

Looks good! I love that mascara, very comparable to my go to one of Roller Lash from Benefit.

I’ve been subscribed for two years now I think? I don’t mind the sample sizes because they are usually from pricey brands. I’m not too happy with seeing a full size item from their own brand though. I’ve never tried their stuff so idk, maybe it’s good, but that’s not what I expect from this box. 🙁

A $55 & $26 dollar item to begin with. I’m looking forward to trying both!
