We have the full spoilers for the April 2021 Boxwalla Beauty box!

The theme is 'Spring in Spain':

Each April Boxwalla Beauty box will include:

Twelve Beauty was founded by Pedro Catalá. In addition to degrees in Pharmacy and Botany, he has a Masters in the Science and Technology of Cosmetics and a PhD in Natural and Formulation Technologies. His products meld the beauty and potency of plant-based ingredients with the rigors of science.

Twelve Beauty Intelligent Frontier Facial Oil (30 ml, $215)

This is a soothing, antioxidant rich, light-weight oil serum, made with what Pedro calls 'nature's best secret' : UnsaponifiablesUnsaponifiables are fractions of plant oils that are brimming with incredible vitamins and minerals, capable of repairing the skin's barrier in a very short span of time by stimulating its filaggrin production. They are, however, extremely complex and expensive to extract, but no expense was spared to incorporate them into this incredible formula. This oil serum contains 4 unsaponifiables including Olive Oil unsaponifiables that contain verbascoside, a potent radical scavenger. It also contains vegan plant pollen, rich in amino acids, enzymes, magnesium, zinc and vitamins. Made in a base of Meadowfoam and Sacha Inchi oil, this linoleic acid rich oil should suit most skin types, helping dry skin retain more moisture, improving the sebum quality of combo/oil skin and soothing sensitive skin by reinforcing the upper layers of the skin.

Twelve Beauty Nutritive Repair Emulsion (50 ml, $72)

This is a nourishing yet quick absorbing cream that leaves a non-greasy semi-matte finish. Like all Twelve Beauty products, Nutritive Repair is great for soothing sensitive, stressed skin and strengthening the skin barrier with consistent use. In addition to soothing, antioxidant herbal extracts like Buddleja Davidii leaf extract, it contains polyphenol-rich Cupuaçu butter as well as Spent grain wax that mainly consists of linoleic acid, an essential fatty acid required for the regeneration of the epidermal permeability barrier.

Each April Box will contain 2 FULL SIZE products that nourish, strengthen and repair the epidermal barrier and deliver a healthy glow! Retail Value: $287 Last Day to Subscribe is April 1st

Possible Repost because I don’t know what just happened with my computer while I was typing!!

I don’t really trust TWELVE Beauty. Partly it’s because of the “parfum” as others have stated. I side-eye any clean beauty brands who feel the need to add it to their products. Partly it’s because I received two other products in a different sub box a number of years ago and they just weren’t that special, especially at this price point. Partly it’s because of the way the brand owner handled a dispute with a sub beauty box.

If I recall, the issue was regarding “payment upon receipt” of items for the sub box, but the TWELVE products were held up in customs and didn’t arrive to the sub box company on time, and therefore he didn’t get paid “on time”, or at least when he though he should be paid… or something along those lines. He totally dragged the sub box brand on social media, which I think it a low-class and unprofessional move. It created a ton of unnecessary drama, but I get that people make poor choices when they are upset so I gave him the benefit of the doubt. He removed the post and did a half-sincere apology but it caused multiple brand founders to take sides and speak out for or against both the sub box company and his brand.

I haven’t thought much of it until this box, when, wouldn’t you know it, it’s stuck in customs again and is shipping out late! I want to like the products and give TWELVE another chance, so I’m going to get this box to give the brand another try for a relatively low cost. I hope I am pleasantly surprised!

Excited to try this brand. TWELVE Beauty just won an award from the 2021 Beauty Short List Awards: Best Natural/Organic Skincare Brand International. Boxwalla never disappoints imo ❤️

I’m sorry, but no facial oil is worth $215. I say this as someone whose HG facial oil is $80…and I wouldn’t pay full price for it, either.

Carrie

Yeah. I’m allergic to lavender.

This box is impressive as one of the most consistently high-quality (and high-value) boxes. It isn’t like some I could name, which started out fairly great but have gone downhill very, very rapidly. I love this box. I think it’s one of the very few that have remained well worth the price.

Since I first started getting Boxwalla, this is this first box with products with added fragrance (limonene and Linolool). Obviously fine for many folks but also hard on sensitive skin. 🙁 oh well, at least my wallet will get a break!

Same here, I noticed that the ingredients list for the emulsion included “parfum.” I’m currently dealing with the painful aftermath of a scented face product…I just can’t do added fragrance. I’m always really disappointed when “clean” beauty products feel the need to use it.

I canceled because my skin doesn’t love some of the oils listed unfortunately ( but yay for my wallet as well).
However, those ingredients you mentioned (limonene) are usually not added but a component of most citrus essential oils/citrus peels. 🙂

Hi Carrie and Melissa! As Melissa said, the linalool etc. are components of the trace amount of essential oils used. This kind of labeling is required by the EU. These are components in many eos, including lavender essential oil. Hope that helps! Twelve Beauty is actually amazing for sensitive skin. Melissa – if you don’t mind- could you let me know which oils your skin doesn’t do well with?

I should point out that otherwise these products look divine!
