Fortune Cookie Soap “The Enchanted Wood” March 2021 Review

Here is the info sheet for this month's box.

Every box comes packaged with a themed sticker that always makes me smile.

FCS Looking for Sunshine Honey & Bee Pollen Night Cream

If this subscription has ever sent me a night cream before, I can’t remember. While I like the idea, I really think that Fortune Cookie Soap should have included a separate insert listing the ingredients of this moisturizer, especially because the info sheet has a disclaimer about not using this cream if you’re allergic to bee stings. The ingredients are listed on the top of the lid, but since this is a small jar the writing is absolutely microscopic. There isn’t an online listing for this available yet (the full-size will be available for sale on March 26, meaning I would have to wait 11 days to see the full ingredients list since my box was delivered on March 15th). Because of all of this, I stuck with trying this moisturizer out on my arm instead of my face. The key scent notes were woodsy lavender and a touch of lemon, and there is a bit of honey to round things out. The texture is lightweight and absorbed quickly into my skin -- this scent in a full-size body cream would actually be really fantastic, but I don’t love it in my moisturizer.

Friends Forever Perfume Oil

This is the only product not scented with honey -- instead, there are notes of apples, ripe pears, wildflowers, and blond woods. I love this fragrance on me -- it’s fruity without being overly sweet and balanced by the floral notes, and it smells a touch similar to a more expensive perfume I already own. I don’t usually love the perfume oils sent in this box because they appear so frequently, but this one is a winner.

Hunny Pot Bath & Shower Gel

How cute is this mini bear packaging? I love that attention to detail. This shower gel has scent notes of citrus, apricot, and honey, and my nose was able to pick up on all of those things. This fragrance was really nice -- I’m contemplating picking up the full-size bottle when the collection launches later this month. If I do, I’ll use my $10 off $35 coupon you get every month via email with your subscription.

I’m The Only One Lip Scrub

This was a great lip scrub -- the texture had grit from the sugar and enough of a binder that it was easy to scoop up and spread on my lips. The taste of honey and fresh tea (I only taste the honey) is really enjoyable, and my lips were much smoother after one use.

The Verdict: Even though I had a bit of a rant about the moisturizer, I still really enjoyed this box. All of the scents were spectacular -- so much so I want to purchase full-size products when the collection launches later this month, even though I have so many open body products already. This is one of my favorite under-$20 subscription boxes I have reviewed, and if you’re a fan of small-batch body care and skincare products I really recommend it.

To Wrap Up:

I received diaper rash cream in my April box. Really? The March box was cute, but the only product I truly enjoyed was the lip scrub. The perfume oil was way too fruity sweet. Same with the cream which I would never put on my face. I will use it on the tops of my feet. The body wash was too cute to open. But the DIAPER RASH cream?? I guess I could use it after shaving my legs or other places. The other items in the box were blah. I am through with this sub.

Oh man, am I glad to see your reaction to that cream.

I’m not aware of having an allergy to bee stings (I’ve been stung before), and I’ve used loads of different skincare products and sheet masks with honey and proplis, so I happily slathered that cream on and MY. FACE. ERUPTED. It turned bright red and swollen and hot. But I had no idea what the ingredients were, so I can’t pinpoint wtf happened or what ingredient specifically irritated me. Yes, I should have spot-tested but they need to include ingredients!! I’m still really bothered by this.

There are many things that FCS absolutely slays at. Like body lotions/creams. Deep conditoners. Whipped soaps. Body washes. Lip balms. But not their facial products. I tend to find them very harsh and way too heavily fragranced.

I am allergic to bee stings so my husband used the face cream sample as a hand cream. He liked the fragrance and I liked everything in this box a lot otherwise.

I am also frustrated at how tiny the ingredients list is if it’s included at all I haven’t been able to use half the box yet because I have bad contact dermatitis. Still love this box.

I thought the coupon was $10 off of $25

I loved the Honey pot Bath and Shower oil! I put some in my bath and it was so nice! I also mixed a little bit in with my shave cream and it was amazing. I will def buy the full size!

This box always makes me smile and I have to hand it to FCS for their fun curations each month (that actually have a theme and not some random word lol.)

It’s funny how they get around the whole licensing thing, but I am definitely impressed by the thought that goes into each month.

The little bear bottle of course made my day and I’m glad the OCD sanitizer took a much needed break this month. LOVED the perfume 😍

I can’t use scented creams or oils on my face but enjoy them on my arms and legs. This is my favorite sub and I can’t imagine ever cancelling, just wish for more toners, soaps and even those scent diffusers would be welcome over so many perfume oils. Even though I’ve enjoyed every one of them, I’m amassing quite a collection on the vanity.

Oh bother, it’s Winnie the Pooh. My favorite childhood friends. I can’t use lavender. I just can’t use perfume oils either. I need to pause my box. I have not liked most of the stuff the last 4 months. Sad for me.
