The Preschool Box is a monthly subscription that sends preschool activities to encourage learning, reading, and creativity in children aged 3-6. Every box contains specific learning objectives that focus on phonics, reading skills, and basic math concepts with activities, crafts, and a book.
A portion of all proceeds for this subscription supports an orphanage for at-risk children in Uganda through Rafiki Africa Ministries.

The Preschool Box February 2021 Graduation Box Review
The centerpiece of this box is the parent guide and activity workbook. It has a welcome letter on the inside, as well as the curriculum plan for this month. Each Preschool Box has 4 weeks all planned out for your child, so by the time you finish everything, your next box should be on its way to you.
The first 6 months of this subscription teach your child the letters of the alphabet (letter recognition, sounds, and writing) and numbers; the following 6 months focus on sounding out and reading words. At the end of the subscription, you receive a fun graduation box! This is box #12 - the Graduation box!
Your subscription auto-cancels after receiving this 12th box of your subscription.
Here's a look inside at the parent guide and workbook pages. Normally, activities and lessons are broken up into weeks 1-4 of the month, but this month isn't set up like that because this is the final box. The activities are more of a combination/review of things your child has learned over the past year. At the end of the booklet is a reading log to track what books you and your child read each day.
Every box contains a folder that holds all the paper materials for the activities and crafts. This month, they also include a graduation certificate for completion of the subscription!
Here's a closer look at the worksheets. Kids all learn differently! My son enjoys working through workbooks, so he likes completing these pages, usually. I would say that I have seen the difficulty level of the pages increase as we've made our way through this subscription, and I think the tasks they provide are helpful. I appreciate that there is variety between worksheet pages so it doesn't feel like you're just repeating the same tasks over and over with each letter or sound.
Because this is the last box, the workbook includes a Preschool Assessment section that puts together all the skills my son has developed over the course of this subscription. The last page included a list of sight words.
Here's a look at activities in this month's box. They include "alphabet fishing," a letter apple tree, a pattern necklace, an alphabet book, and chalk for a hopscotch outside using letter blends. My 5 year old really enjoyed the more physical activities like pictured above, especially the alphabet fishing. I loved seeing him able to complete all the tasks and demonstrate concept mastery that he has worked so hard toward!
Five Little Llamas Board Book from Little Hippo Books - Retail value $8.99 (on sale for $7.65 here)
This month's book is about some llamas who are getting ready and decorating for their friends' birthday! It's cute, and counts from 1 to 5 llamas along the way.
GoGo Squeez Yogurtz Pouch, 3 oz - Retail value $1.19
My kids love these yogurts! We usually get a box of these yogurts from Costco. Not every Preschool box has contained a snack, but a couple have had a pouch like this. My kids eat them right away!
Finally, we gave my son the graduation cap and the certificate! He was so proud of himself and loved that we took the time to celebrate how hard he's worked through these boxes!
Verdict: Wow, my son is all done with this subscription! We have really enjoyed our subscription to The Preschool Box! I have found it so helpful to have school-at-home lessons and projects for my 5-year-old simplified and prepped for me. Since getting this box, it's been really fun seeing him work, learn, and play. I've been learning about him and what subjects he likes, what activities he responds to well, and they cover a wide enough range of content to help me see his sticky points that he needs to practice outside of the work from this box (my son is really good at math but we need to work on reading more). Also, I love that some activities are repeatable so we can build up a sort of library of educational games and activities to reach for later.
It's hard to put a concrete value assessment on this box because of its nature. I can say that it has totally been worth the cost for my family, though. I know I could probably find resources for similar crafts or projects online by myself, but I have three children 5 and under and work from home, and I just do not have the time or bandwidth to be able to sit, research, plan, and prepare educational activities or crafts at the moment. Having everything in this box ready to grab and do together (or to set him up with something to do on his own while I do something else!) with no effort, decision making, or internet hunting on my part has made a huge difference for us. Additionally, I am really happy with how the subscription increased in skill difficulty in a way that's been right along with my son's skills improving. I've also felt empowered to see the areas where he needs practice and I have been able to help him improve them!
