BoxyCharm April 2021 Review
Let's see what I received!
Natasha Denona 'Jubilee' Palette - Listed Value $48.00 (you can find other assorted palettes in a smaller size here!)
Yes! I was so hoping for this particular palette. Something about the mix of nude, pink, yellow, and the teals was calling to me. In typical fashion, these ND formulas are fantastic. I was really happy to discover that what looked like a black shadow was actually the most fantastic moody teal shade! You can get a ton of looks from this palette. Keep it natural with the nude and a light-handed application of yellow or pink. Or go super bold with loads of pink and teal.
Top to bottom: Vintage Taupe, Intense, Limoncello, Enigma, Mint Frost.
Here is a more natural look..
And here is something a little more fun.
Here is a size comparison between this palette and the "mini" size you see at Sephora. Lots more product here!
Earth Harbor Naturals AURORA Superfood Luminance Ampoule, 1 fl oz - Retail Value $32.00
I really enjoyed this green ampoule. It has lots of wonderful things inside like jojoba, avocado oil, seaweed extract, and sea buckthorn oil. It also smells pretty wonderful because it has some blue tansy and lavender too. It's a medium weight that absorbs nicely on my drier skin, but if you are oilier it might feel a bit heavy, so I recommend sleeping in it. I applied some underneath a sheet mask then kicked back for 30 minutes before removing it. Pure bliss!
Dragun Beauty DragunFire Color Corrector in 'Lavender', 4 mL - Retail Value $25.00
As someone who really isn't wearing anything heavier than a BB cream right now, correcting products aren't really top of mind for me. But I have never tried a lavender one before! It is designed to cancel out yellow tones and though I don't have a ton of those (I am more of a redness-prone gal) I decided to give this a shot and applied it to the areas where I would normally apply concealer. Even though I am not prone to yellowness, you can totally tell that the left side of my face below has had all warmth removed, so I am guessing this would be wonderful for someone who has concerns about yellowness on their face. For me, I plan on keeping this around and trying it on days where I am feeling especially dull, because the cool lavender totally has a brightening effect too.
Here is a half-face shot! I applied the lavender corrector to the warmer spots on the left side of my face and left the right side alone.
Laura Geller Iconic Baked Sculpting Lipstick in 'Battery Park Bronze' - Retail Value $21.00
I am not sure how I feel about this shade because it is very golden and that can be tough for me to pull off. Luckily it also has a rich coppery undertone which helps! There is a little noticeable grit to this metallic shade, but it isn't bothersome. I was actually impressed with the color payoff. The shape of the bullet is also great because it has a distinct point which is perfect for shaping your lips as you apply it.
Super shiny.
Terre de Mars Move 008 Reddition Body Cleanser, 150 mL - Retail Value $31.00
Eh, this was a no-go for me because I am a weirdo who can't stand the scent of lemongrass. It reminds me of mosquito candles. If you happen to like that scent though, you are in luck!
Verdict: This BoxyCharm assortment was pretty awesome! Aside from the body wash, I liked everything here. And, I am fully aware that most normal people enjoy lemongrass, so I bet this will be enjoyed by a lot of subscribers! The Natasha Denona palette was absolutely beautiful and I love getting items from that brand in any of my boxes. I also thought the Dragun Beauty lavender corrector was a really fun item to try, and something I never would have sought out on my own. I can totally see using it in the future, if only for an eyeshadow primer that can minimize discoloration on my darker lids. The lipstick is more of a fall shade IMO, but I liked the effect, and the Earth Harbor ampoule was soothing and wonderful to use. All in all, this was a really great box! My BoxyCharm box has an overall value of $157.00 which is great for a $25 box.
