Ipsy Glam Bag Plus April 2021 Choice Time

For the first time since fall I’m disappointed in my options. My bag doesn’t have the value it usually does and I’m not even sure if I’m going to want to use some of the products I’m getting. My options were so bad that for at least one category I didn’t want anything at all. I’ll probably give at least some of the products to my daughters. They like trying out stuff but the oldest just turned 18 so none of them have their own subscription. There are several options listed above that I would have loved to have even though they are cheaper options like TheBalm palette. I have two palettes from that brand and really enjoy them. At least two of the options listed above I received in previous Glam Bag Plus bags and I’ve only been subscribed since last summer.

I got 2 lip oils and for add ons got one lippie and one balm. Ipsy chose the brushes and a Dr. Botanicals butter for me. I love masks, so I chose the mud mask, too. I was really bummed the nail polish didn’t come up as a choice, but I love lip oils and glossy lippies during the summer, so I’m excited to get this box! I just wish they would stop sending the bags. They are just a waste for me.

I was expecting to be offered one of the palettes and wasn’t. It’s maybe the first time getting Plus without any eyeshadow. I can’t complain because they chose Honest foundation and I did want that. Also the Dr Botanicals rescue, Vitabrid cream, Avant primer, Beau Gachis brush set. A very skincare heavy month. Could’ve done without yet another set of brushes.

I wasn’t offered the Honest Foundation. Bummer. It was my goal product. I am still happy with everything I picked.
I am a sucker for Balm packaging. So cute.
I chose the shampoo bar over the higher value Avant. That was a struggle. I have so many serum etc and almost out of shampoo so had to be wise instead of price conscious lol.
I am ending up with 2 palettes and definitely don’t need any more palettes but ipsy chose one and the Balm is just too fun.
I wish I had been offered the girlactic too.
I think I am getting the lemon serum and hmmmm I forget what else.

When does choice close? I logged on this morning to see my choices but couldn’t decide. When I went back in this evening, my choices were all different and not what I wanted. Not sure what to do

I was really happy with my box, and I didn’t really expect to be! Ipsy picked the VB mascara and the lemon moisturizer. I picked the Nue serum, Then I Met You moisturizer, and Seraphine lip mask. I have a little redness to my face so I’m psyched about all the cica and other skin calming ingredients. I added on the squalane oil and the B plus moisturizer. Really pleased.

Under both profiles Ipsy chose brushes for me, as well as brushes were a choice for both in category 3.

Category 1 was basically the same under both profiles. I’m not seeing that much of a difference in the offerings in general considering I have 2 polar opposite profiles. Interesting.

The upside is I get 10 full size products a month and wind up spending less on add ons.

I got so excited that ipsy was offering a shampoo bar. I was about to buy one anyway in part of my journey to explore plastic-free products. I know the retail value isn’t very high, but I love the “trying new things” aspect of subscription boxes.
I hope to see more choices like this.

As always, I didnt love the spoilers but ended up loving my bag. The Pill serum looks interesting and it’s nice to see Avant in Ipsy. I’m glad I rolled the dice for $25.

My categories were more balanced this time around (I’ve done that email survey twice now) and it was pretty easy to choose. I try to take a quick look at each product and push myself to try things I wouldn’t normally, but I also know what I like and it was nice to get a perfect assortment for my preferences this month. Not impressed with my choices this time. I did not need more serums yet the value was a lot higher then the soap I d use. I wish that the choices would all be around the same value. $15 value for a hair shampoo soap or $85 for a serum. The other choice was a lip oil i wanted yet once again the value was a lot lower then the face oils

Everything I wanted was lumped into the same two choice categories, so it was hard to pick but I had to go with the serums. Definitely don’t need all these brushes, but maybe I can swap them for some of the stuff I missed out on. Though once I have them in my hands I might end up keeping them because I’m a shameless brush hoarder. Overall really happy with my bag.

Kind of a serum heavy bag, but it was either serum or lip stuff this round, and the serums won.

Absolutely love my Plus! It never disappoints me.

This month sucks. I wasn’t offered any of the eyeshadow palettes nor the Ofra lip gloss which I would have loved.

My choices were very lip heavy this month but this is completely fine because all I really wanted was the Akar lip balm and the Ofra lip gloss. Both of which were choices for me in different categories, thank goodness. My last choice was the purple cabbage serum from a S. Korea brand which I’m super excited for. I don’t need another serum but Korean products have never steered me wrong so I’m excited to give this a try. I almost chose 3 lip products but I refuse to buy celebrity touted products.

This bag is AMAZING. I love getting hair care products in Ipsy and my husband is stoked for the scalp treatment. Gel moisturizers work the best on my skin and I can never get enough mascara and lip products! I’ve also been needing a good primer. 5/5 this month!
