meowbox March 2021 Review
meowbox has a lot of exclusive toys that are usually pretty popular with my cats. From my perspective, it’s nice to see items that don’t turn up in other cat subscription boxes:
The information card includes a URL for finding out more details about the items in the box and an adorable illustration that highlights the theme.
On to the items:
Purrfect Potted Plant Cat Toy – Retail Value $6.00
This is a small-to-medium-sized cat toy that’s mostly plush with crinkles and, of course, catnip. My cats were primarily interested in the “leaves” at the top during our initial play session, but this has been rolled around the floor some when I haven’t been in the room with it, too. The leaves seem securely attached.
Vibrant Vine Wand Cat Toy – Retail Value $9.50
There are wands most month in meowbox and that’s great because Sneaky loves wand toys. This one was no exception. The leaves are felt and perfect for sinking claws into (or teeth, as the case may be).
Feline Flower Seeds Cat Toy 2-Pack - Retail Value $5.00
These are smaller, lightweight, mostly crinkle and catnip (no real plush stuffing) cat toys. As always, the design is cute and creative and fits the overall theme very well. These were subjected to a lot of chin and head rubbing by my two boys (Madison and Monkey) and of course, feathers are always popular.
Felted Wool Leaf – Retail Value $5.00
This one is felted wool with no catnip but my cats found it interesting anyway. Back when Angus was still alive (can you believe he’s been gone for over a year now?), he was a huge fan of these, and he and Sneaky always liked the same toys, so I was not surprised to see Sneaky investigating this one. Madison was also interested in this although he was feeling a bit camera shy the day I took photos.
Yappetizers Yummy Chicken Treats – Retail Value $5.00
This month’s treats are made in Canada (meowbox is a Canadian company but they do ship with US tracking for US-based customers) and are simple freeze-dried chicken. You do get a lot of freeze-dried chicken in this subscription but, for whatever reason, my cats seem to like it better from meowbox than from other places, with Sneaky being the biggest fan. Meanwhile, I am always happy to get minimally processed, single-ingredient, low-calorie treats for my cats.
Kitty pictures:
(Madison is black, Sneaky is calico, and Monkey is tan and white.)
Verdict: I calculated a total value of about $30.50 for March’s meowbox. Every time I open meowbox, I am excited to see the theme and the cute toys designed to fit the theme. The plant theme was a great one for spring that I have not seen with my other cat subscriptions. I liked the variety of toy types, textures, and sizes – there was something that each one of my cats enjoyed. If you are thinking of subscribing, I would say this is a fairly typical month in terms of what types of items you get.
To Wrap Up:
Can you still get this box if you sign up today? It is too late for the March box, so your subscription would likely start with the April box.
Value Breakdown: At $22.95 for the subscription plus free shipping, you are paying $4.59 for each of the 5 items.
